Matt Young’s Saturday Northam Preview Posted on February 12, 2026February 13, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 TYPHOON TREASURE (2) trialled up well and has the draw advantage over some of the main rivals and looks hard to beat here. LIVY ANN (7) returns from a tricky draw but has ability and had a few things go against her last time in, expecting a strong and consistent preparation for her. LADY CRUNCH TIME (4) could be an improver in the return run and SPOT ON MOLLY (6) looks a nice type but a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 7 4 6 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON TREASURE (2) to win. Race 2 Open race. THREE FLAMES (8) is racing with decent consistency, can follow through and watch things unfold and this grade suits, should be in the finish. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (5) better suited back to the mobile as she meets them on the same mark but is coming in fresh, awkward draw but class suits her. BATAVIA STORM (7) needs a touch of luck from the draw but will be running on with WATCHING LIPPY (4) who is racing soundly for this grade. Tips: 8 5 7 4 Suggested Bet: THREE FLAMES (8) each way. Race 3 ELEPHANT ROCK (6) has hit some form and can be driven assertively again and looks hard to hold out in his bid to make it three in a row. GALVINSTON JOHN (2) has the nice draw and early speed, could lead early and has options, he can get fiery so the middle distance can be challenging for him. IDEAL WHITBY (4) is consistent and can bounce back and get into the money with BAZZA MAC (1) a novelty chance from the draw with THE ULTIMATE BEACH (7) and ISAIDBOO (9). Tips: 6 2 1 7 Suggested Bet: ELEPHANT ROCK (6) to win. Race 4 HOTFOOT IT (2) gets a great draw and right grade to show his best, he can push forward and find the top and has been racing in tougher races, looks a sharp improver in this. BET ON THE RIVER (5) is mixing his form but this grade suits, likely to be on speed but would prefer if he could lead and that looks challenging. GET YA BETS ON (7) needs some luck from the draw and is not quite at his best. AMERICAN MONARCH (9) will be running on strongly and expecting an improvement from her. BEYOND BLING (6) falls into the same category as the stablemate but the map looks tricky from the outside draw. SPORTING GRACE (8) a novelty chance, hit the line solid last time out. Tips: 2 9 5 7 Suggested Bet: HOTFOOT IT (2) to win. Race 5 Good race. NORTVHIEW DANCE (10) looks a solid chance, normally a good beginner and has a 30m handicap over one of the big fancies, can be driven with confidence and will run well here. MAUNGATAHI (12) was a good win last time out, he can step well and make some ground and will be running home powerfully, just needs some mid race tempo. ECLIPSE LINE (2) on the quick backup and is capable, looks more of a novelty chance. DOURADO (4) can step well and did plenty early last week and stuck it out well, moves 10m forward on that. Novelty chances to VINITA ROSE (1), AWAITINGINSTRUCTIONS (7) and MY COPY (8). Tips: 10 12 4 2 Suggested Bet: NORTHVIEW DANCE (10) to win. Race 6 EL JAYDO (3) will dash to the top and should win this with a leg in the air, first up run was very good and should be fitter again and this is easier. GOGGINS (10) is racing well, did plenty mid race and battled on well, expecting him to be powering home. THE WHIZZER (5) is racing with consistency and likely heads forward and races in the first few and can stick on. MONEY WELL SPENT (8) was decent in the comeback run and is fitter and will run home well. GEARSINAWHIRL (1) is a place chance with ANYWHEREIGOHUGO (7) who won well last time out. Tips: 3 10 5 8 Suggested Bet: GOGGINS (10) to place. Race 7 AUSSIE CAPTAIN (6) returns and has an abundance of ability; connections have never been afraid to take on some of the better types and looks well placed in the return run. WHERES MY HALO (5) looks the main danger and has the draw advantage over his main rival. UNKNOWN (1), CAPTAINS COMMAND (2) and GLOBAL ARK (4) look next best. Tips: 6 5 4 1 Suggested Bet: AUSSIE CAPTAIN (6) to win. Market Market
