RACE 1

CASINO ROYALE just continues to find ways to get beaten and continues to find one or two better than him but in these Leonora, Leinster, Laverton maidens in back to back to back weeks by process of elimination they get easier and easier. Mollie Clark is the Queen of Leinster: last 2 years 9 rides for 4 winners. Trust. SOLARIS GLOW is the quickest of them early and can lead. WESTRIVER DYNIQUE had two runs at Landor under the 68kg and won’t know herself with only 53kg after Jefferson Tsang. MONACO CALLING is knee high to a grasshopper so wouldn’t have handled the weight at all at Landor.

RACE 2 

BERRY BERRY GOOD won at Mt Magnet in a 48+ 1000 for Holly Nottle and beat key rival Shasfa in the process. Then went to Moora and wasn’t able to cop the high speed set by Weapons Hot. Think that he can bounce back here. SHASFA has been up for a long time now (13th run of the campaign) but continues to try hard and 1000m has always been her go. HOT NOVA is the X-Factor coming into this first-up. Has some speed on her day and can use barrier 1 to kick through underneath them. DEAL OBTAINED wants further than the short course.

RACE 3

GINGER JIVE was going well at Carnarvon before heading to Mt Magnet and Landor. Finished third in a 56+ 1200 behind The Coolakin King and Wise Words in late August and quite simply if she ran to that level she would be too good for her rivals here. LE TROY missed the kick last week at Leonora and from there it was game over. BLOWIN SMOKE broke through in a maiden last week and the prior runs at Magnet and Geraldton were both handy. OUR LITTLE GEM lumped 71kg in both races at Landor. Down to 52kg.

RACE 4

TIME TO THUNDER won a 56+ 1400 at Leinster in 2023 by nearly 4L at 20-1. In 2024 he went around at 50-1 and ran second in another 56+ 1400. Carrying 75kg at Landor and then dropping a heap of weight into these meetings seems to get the best out of him and happy to roll the dice considering the old boy always goes around a price. FORTUNES LUCK will be better suited having her second run on the dirt and getting out to 1400m. Very hard to beat but likely short. HEY BULL and FRIES WITH THAT went to the line locked together last week behind Urban Warrior.

RACE 5

IMA WILD GIRL is seriously tough. She’s having her 16th run of the prep and has backed up from Moora to Leonora and now again to Leinster. Think this is the race where Kristy Bennett can find the front and that’s key to her winning chances. WHOS YOUR MAMA is rock hard fit and comes back in distance. Can be ridden like the best horse in the race and put into the contest from the 600. ROEY CLAM is going a few lengths below what he was producing early in the season at Broome. OUR KIWI PRINCESS isn’t stepping and that’s making life hard.

RACE 6

BOAB BOY put on an exhibition last week in the Leonora Cup allowing young Hong Kong apprentice Jefferson Tsang to sit up and smile for the photo over the last furlong. He’s handling the dirt, he leads and he only rises 2kg here after winning by 10L last weekend at $1.50. Doubt they turn the tables on him. GOT LUCKY was a scratching from that event and is a last start winner of the Mt Magney Cup. He won the Leonora, Leinster and Laverton Cups in 2023. Respect. HIS EMINENCE was also scratched from the Leonora Cup last week. Rather the new horses on the scene than those Boab Boy belted last week. URBAN WARRIOR is capable on his day.
