He has been a bridesmaid on a number of occasions and gone close throughout multiple preparations. Drawn barrier 1, Lucy Fiore riding brilliantly and should be getting the hob done here. GASPARDO looks the logical danger and with a set of shades on and finding a race where he can likely lead he’ll have admirers. Battled on well last start. TOBIAN a watch fresh from a soft draw. GREAT DEAL ran a solid third back in March. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – FIRE THE GUARD WIN RACE 2 COSMIC SPIRIT was all the rage on debut at Pinjarra and went under at odds on. Now drops into a country maiden and looks the reason that CJP is riding in Albany on a Thursday. Think she’s got above average ability. I LOVE LUCY A LOT went around 50-1 on debut in a maiden that contained This’ll Show Ya and subsequent winners Great Emotion and Allentown. She won her 1000m trial well at the last meeting. POINT OF CONFLICT has shown ability at trials in all three campaigns. G’DAY BLOKE is going well. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – COSMIC SPIRIT WIN RACE 3 MY IDOL was beaten under 1L on debut behind Oisin, Lunch In Paris and Ranyx. Have a feeling that’s a form reference worth following and now with an extra 300m and a drop into a country maiden he’ll be very popular. Looks very hard to beat. PARC IT IN HERE has run well in both career outings and is on the 7 day spin. OPTIMAL has raced well since arriving in Albany. Just needs a big steer from a horror gate. ELEGANT PEAK will find this easier from gate 1. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 13 Suggested Bet – MY IDOL WIN RACE 4 CHEROKEE MISS was off the 4 day back-up when hammered in betting last Thursday and is now backing up again off 7 days. Was a strong win and only rises up 1kg in weight. See no reason why she won’t power into the mix again? ABISSI is racing like he wants ground. The C3 1650 at Belmont last Wednesday was run 8L faster than average and so even with a claiming apprentice on he could be popular in betting. VANCOUVER STORM is out in distance quickly with weight. FIGHT IN FLIGHT has shades re-attached and heads to Albany. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHEROKEE MISS WIN RACE 5 GENERAL KNOWLEDGE went around a $4 chance at his last run in a C5. Recent trials have been strong and from the draw Chanel Cooper should have him poised and ready to strike. Michael Lane’s horses are always ready to go first-up and this looks a great race for him. HIT THE JACKPOT is a handy short course horse for a Country C2. Recent trial matched motors with Close At Hand who has always been well regarded in betting throughout his career. SONG CYCLE ran really well fresh for the new yard. BIG CITIES next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – GENERAL KNOWLEDGE WIN RACE 6 EEVALINA went around with 61.5kg in the $100,000 Regional Championships Final at Ascot only 12 days ago. Now transfers across to Michael Lane and looks nicely suited to Albany c70+ company. ESTIMATOR is a nice horse for this grade of racing and can park up right over the speed throughout. HENRY THE AVIATOR had 9 runs last season and ran 7 minors. Consistent but just couldn’t quite break through. OXBRIDGE was unstoppable at stages last season. High speed horse. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – EEVALINA WIN RACE 7 HOW PRETTY won a 1240m 58+ last start beating Blue Line. She’s no star but she’s the kind of mare who will always be right in the mix when she draws a gate to get a soft run close handy. Tough little mare who gets the right run again here. I DREAMED A DREAM was below his best first-up and can come on quickly. BIN SHALAA won well at Geraldton last start and the horse she beat (Prince Ragnar) was plunged and won last Saturday. JUST FAMOUS a big watch first-up from the powerful Grantham yard. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – HOW PRETTY WIN RACE 8 ANTIQUE QUEEN is only a 1920m maiden handicap winner at York but she’s trialled well, she’s fresh at 1500m and her recent trial win at Lark Hill was pretty sharp for a mare like her. Might be ready to win a few this prep. HEAR ME SING showed last start that he’s not far off another win. MAGNABURMA was good late first-up over an unsuitable 1200m. This is more to his liking. BENTLEY BEAU is rarely far from the action and whenever he drops back into 58+ grade he goes well.
