Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on June 18, 2024June 18, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Not much would surprise here. CROWN OF CATHERINE dominated a modest maiden last start and is showing staying promise. TAIKYU appreciated stepping up in distance last time and give the impression he’ll run 2400m strongly. PURVEYOR is sure to find this easier than the Queensland Derby. GYPSY COVE is still a maiden but continues to hit the line strongly. Selections: 6,3,2,7 Suggested Bet: Small bet Crown of Catherine to win Race 2 Competitive race. GO TO HOLLYWOOD has returned in good from, he comes through a key lead up race and gets blinkers off. NASRAAWY comes through the same race and should be close to peak fitness now. BEAST MODE has jumped out well to resume. CHEVAL CHIC is building a handy record and has been kept fresh for the drop back to 1000m. Selections: 7,2,1,9 Suggested Bet: Go To Hollywood each way Race 3 KIKO appears to relish being kept to 1000m and was beaten by a promising galloper last start. That form will be tested in the previous race. TIZ ENUF will be part of the speed and that wasn’t a bad place to be here last Saturday. HOLLY LOLLY did plenty of work first up, she’ll strip fitter and gets a claim. LUNA CAT, HEART OF GLASS, CHARMED RUN and I CHOOSE YOU all have claims in another competitive race. Selections: 9,10,2,1 Suggested Bet: Kiko each way Race 4 PACIFIC CROSS ran well stepping up to this trip last start and gets blinkers on. SUBRISING is racing well, she had the tempo against her last time and there might be more pressure here. SOMEBODYTOLOVE was forced to do some early work in the same race as Pacific Cross and was entitled to tire late. HEART OF VENICE impressed winning her maiden second up. KNUCKLEBONES had similar excuses to Subrising in the same race at her latest run. Selections: 7,2,9,6 Suggested Bet: Pacific Cross each way Race 5 JAYKAYANN had excuses on the Lakeside circuit last start and looks well placed stepping up to 2400m on soft ground. MATHEW defeated his stablemate Jakayann last time and gives the impression 2400m will be ok. Both horses look hard to beat with some luck from wide draws. GOLDENSTATEWARIOR fought hard to win last time and also gives the impression he’ll appreciate stepping up to 2400m. FIRE GLO TOO was close up behind Goldenstatewarrior second up and will strip fitter. Selections: 7,1,2,4 Suggested Bet: JAYKAYANN each way Race 6 STAR VEGA was luckless first up, he’ll appreciate the extra 200m and races well here. NATIONS’S CALL is an import with upside, he’ll strip fitter third up and will make his own luck. THINK WINNING has chased a progressive galloper at his last two and will appreciate the rise to 1500m. SPARE COIN, AWASH and MOGWAI have claims. Selections: 3,1,5,7 Suggested Bet: Star Vega each way Race 7 Another deep race. MOVEFORLEX was only grabbed on the line last start and might be suited coming back to 1800m. PITCHANUN has raced herself back into form and get blinkers on. TURN IT UP TOMMY was flying before his last start and was trapped in the worst ground on that occasion. SEB SONG will be charging late. BLUSHING TYCOON, NEW YORK HURRICANE and I AM THE EMPIRE are among the other winning hopes. Selections: 1,15,13,4 Suggested Bet: Moveforlex each way Race 8 RHAPSODY CHIC won well last start and has the tactical versatility to take advantage on the inside draw. NOBLE CONQUEROR improved nicely second up, he’ll need some luck from the draw but is open to further improvement. TREASUREWAY doesn’t win out of turn but is well placed in this grade and will be strong late. HOLA AMIGOS is building a handy record and the form out of his last run is holding up well. AWAPUNI PRINCESS, THE NEGOTIATOR and ALWAYS HAPI will also be charging late. Selections: 12,8,15,18 Suggested Bet: Rhapsody Chic to win Market Market
