Group A – Germany v Scotland

Germany go into the tournament with plenty of options in their squad as coach Julian Nagelsmann looks to win a trophy on home soil. Captain Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos, who is now a few games from retirement, bring experience to midfield, while Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, and Kai Havertz offering dynamism in attack.

The loss of striker Lyndon Dykes due to an ankle injury was a massive blow to Scotland ahead of the tournament, while Aaron Hickey, Lewis Ferguson, Nathan Patterson are also ruled out. Their fortunes will rest a lot on the shoulders of experienced Premier League trio Andy Robertson, Scott McTominay, and John McGinn.
