Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 14, 2024June 14, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HIDDEN RUBY won well last start after putting the writing on the wall behind sharp 70+ types Californication and Abloh. The 59.5kg is the ask here but from the barrier Tash Faithfull (who rides Kalgoorlie better than anyone) should have her poised and ready to strike on straightening. PRINCESS CHUNK has shown huge amounts of raw ability at times on the Goldfields. Danger fresh. LAND OF FIRE is a long time C1 but some of his recent runs are good enough to give this a shake. TOTAL LOCKDOWN has been building. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – HIDDEN RUBY WIN RACE 2 LET SPARKS FLY has been transferred up to Peter Fernie to continue her maiden preparation in Kalgoorlie and could well break maiden status here. Has shown enough in recent starts and is rock hard fit. ALL CHILL was $14 into $5.50 last week. Justin Robins has a massive strike rate and with the shades on and coming back in distance she must be respected. MORIAH actually found the line alright at her first start on the Goldfields and draws soft. THE FINAL BELLE is first-up no trial since December 2023. The market could be the best guide late. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – LET SPARKS FLY WIN RACE 3 ROYAL ACCOADE loomed the winner at his first start for Josh Brown but couldn’t quite get past Brazen Empress late. 3 weeks later he finds another very winnable maiden, draws to get every mortal chance and they call on the services of metro hoop Jarrad Noske to make the trip to the Goldfields on a Sunday. Is this the one he’s come for? AMERICAN THIGHS gave real cheek on debut and then was honest in her following outings in her initial prep. BAD BOY BU can show early toe and puts himself into races. LIGHTNING GOLD showed something first-up at Northam. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – ROYAL ACCOLADE WIN RACE 4 TALK IT UP is one of the best 70+ types in the region and thinking that he can overcome the 61kg impost to take out the Goldfields Stockfeeds Mayoral Cup. He’s versatile – can sit on top of the speed and out grind them or can sit back in the field and show a big turn of acceleration. In great order and this is a nice race for him if he can lump the weight. DUNBAR hasn’t had much luck since his last victory and has a big weight pull on the stablemate. MUNGO JERRY ran into Baalbek first-up and improves off that. HILTON usually goes well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – TALK IT UP WIN RACE 5 SYMPHONY IN RED will need track conditions to suit but is more than capable and looks very well placed into this event. Last seen in a 0MWLY at Belmont and finished fourth behind Hibiscus Lady, Harbin and Enticing who are all nearly lower grade Saturday metro types. GREYLANDER has his first start in WA for Josh Brown Racing. Honest type from QLD who has won once from 10 but has a 50% place strike rate and looks like he’ll make a nice type in the region. LOOPY’S BABY has been there abouts since arriving on the Goldfields. CELESTIAL FOX attacked the line for the first time in the campaign last start. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – SYMPHONY IN RED WIN RACE 6 PRAY WITH YOU got to the line well last weekend at a meeting where it was very difficult to make any ground. The winner of that race (Dreamtime Jean) is highly progressive and happy to follow that form through. Backing up off 7 days, out to a more suitable trip and the Rickie Brown yard is going well. WHISKY MAC was a remarkable win last start. He was 62 days between runs and back in distance from a 3200m race (over hurdles!) to 1600m and won running away from them. Reproduces and is the one to beat again. SHE’S A MACHINE has been consistent this preparation. MINOR DETAIL kicks through into a nice spot. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRAY WITH YOU WIN RACE 7 RYEWOOD was one of the runs of the meeting last week due to the fact that they couldn’t make any impression from back in the field. 7 days later she’s out in trip, she’s drawn better and she gets a weight swing on Captain Rogers who beat her last weekend. Thinking that she can turn the tables. CAPTAIN ROGERS was $4.60 into $3.10 after the pattern emerged and never really looked like losing in the run. He’s in great form. SO LIKEABLE Will likely look to lead him and found his feet last start. KALLAROO continues to tease. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – RYEWOOD WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1 1,2,5,6 1,4 4,5,6 Market Market
