Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on September 1, 2023September 1, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 TOKENIST couldn’t find the right part of the track at The Valley last start and seems to appreciate having his runs spaced. BLAZERRO may roll forward from the wide draw and secure a decent run behind what should be a solid tempo. BOH RHAP is fit and flying. ASPEN COLORADO will settle off speed but will be strong late. EYE OF THE EAGLE is one of a few others that are fit and in form. Selections: 9,1,5,2 Suggested Bet: Tokenist each way Race 2 RHEINBERG takes another rise in grade but has obvious upside and should get a soft run from the inside draw. PRESSER is another with upside, he was beaten by a smart one last time and drops in grade. CHORLTON LANE has been racing well in Sydney and also looks progressive. ROGUE ROCKER hit the line strongly last time. WORSFOLD will strip fitter and be charging late. Selections: 14,16,2,12 Suggested Bet: Rheinberg to win Race 3 BELLE ET RICHE ran well against the pattern first up and has jumped out impressively between runs. NUNTHORPE, EXTREME STEP and GIRL come through the same race and all have claims, expecting Nunthorpe to improve most out of that run. BEOUR BAY has had a terrific preparation and will make her own luck. YELLOW SAM is buiding a handy record and giving th impression 1400m will suit. MARBLE ARCH will appreciate the rise in trip. Selections: 2,8,9,4 Suggested Bet: Belle Et Riche to win Race 4 Doubt DILLIAN was suited riding the speed last start and has jumped out in a more quiet fashion since. FRIGID is flying and gets right down in the weights, she gives the impression 2000m will be ok. CHANDON BURJ should be ready for 2000m now, doubt she was in the A ground last start. THE NEPHEW is fit and in form, as is PITCHANUN. Selections: 10,14,12,3 Suggested Bet: Dillian each way Race 5 Competitive race and hard to discount any of them. LITTLE BROSE did enough first up. He should be suited stepping up to 1200m and gets winkers back on. VEIGHT has been jumping out nicely and is drawn for a soft run. HEDGED rises in grade following his impressive maiden victory but appears to have plenty of upside. BARBER and SCHEELITE have undeniable claims. Selections: 1,3,11,5 Suggested Bet: Little Brose each way Race 6 JIMMY THE BEAR broke through for a deserved win last time. He’s hard fit and has tactical versatility. MAKRAM worked home strongly first up. He might be looking for further but generally fires second up and will be strong late. EMISSARY and HEZASHOCKA are quality gallopers resuming at a suitable trip and both have been jumping out in encouraging style. THE SUMMIT and JUNIPAL finished alongside each other last start and both are in the mix. Selections: 15,12,2,1 Suggested Bet: Jimmy The Bear each way Race 7 Some quality mares on show here. BENEDETTA was well placed to win first up, she’s jumped out well between runs and gives every impression she’ll measure up. C’EST MAGIQUE looked highly promising during her first campaign and has been trialling/jumping out in great style. PARISAL won a group race over 1100m impressively first up and should be even better suited at 1200m. LACED UP HEELS ran well against the boys first up. WROTE TO ARATAKI has been jumping out impressively. PAPILLON CLUB may be better over slightly further her upside is hard to overlook. Selections: 7,9,2,6 Suggested Bet: Benedetta to win Race 8 ASFOORA measure up well to elite company when she travelled the country last preparation. She’s trialled in good style and looks well placed first up. MAGIC TIME came a long way in a short time in her first campaign, she’s got plenty of upside and has been jumping out impressively. KALLOS was given a solid hit out in a recent trial and looks ready to go first up. GENERATION was scratched from Moonee Valley last week to be saved for this and is another that has been jumping out well leading into a spring campaign. Selections: 6,13,2,7 Suggested Bet: Working around 6 & 13 Race 9 Terrific race. ALLIGATOR BLLOD has the speed to offset his wide draw and his recent trials indicate he’s in great order first up. MR BRIGHTSIDE may get a tag across with Alligator Blood and there’s rarely much between them. I WISH I WIN may need some luck from the inside draw but he’s got plenty of X Factor and has been jumping out well to resume. OSIPENKO and PRINCESS GRACE were both responsible for encouraging returns in the G1 Winx Stakes. Selections: 3,2,1,10 Suggested Bet: Alligator Blood each way Race 10 DEVOTED was terrific first up. He stays right down in the weights and the form through his first up run will be tested in the Memsie. KALINO comes down from Sydney with two runs under his belt and looks suited dropping in grade and rising in distance. REGARDMAREE ran well last week after missing the start and having to work in the run. HERE TO SHOCK has jumped out impressively between runs. He has the early speed to offset the wide draw and may be able to tuck in behind what appears to be a solid tempo. Selections: 14,7,8,2 Suggested Bet: Devoted to win Market Market
