Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 7, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TALK IT UP should continue on his winning ways and the way he’s going you’d think he’ll be headed for Belmont Park in the near future. He sat up outside of Double Spice last start and gave him windburn on straightening. Really extended powerfully late and came away to win by 1.5L. Rises up 4.5kg here in a re-handicapped race but given his prior efforts don’t see that as a stumbling block. Flying. BIRD’S THE WORD is a nice Kalgoorlie type. He can stalk Talk It Up’s every move and have a late crack. JAKESTAR looks like parking outside of Talk It UP. Tough to win from there. YOYO’S sit back and is saved up for a sprint. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – TALK IT UP WIN RACE 2 GOT LUCKY is a 19 start maiden. He’s had a lot of chances and a lot of opportunity, yet this still looks another winnable race for him. Has visors coming off and should lob an ideal position from the draw. Ran well two starts ago behind Laughing Buddha and he has franked that maiden form. I AM KING got closest to Duke I am last week and now gains the services of the region’s premier rider in Clint Johnston-Porter. He’ll need to find the right back to follow from the tricky draw. AGRABAH brings intrigue at his first start in the region. He showed a glimpse on debut in the Quillow race when held up at a crucial stage. MOONLIGHT RIVER kept coming behind Heavenly Miss last start. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – GOT LUCKY WIN RACE 3 GALAXIAN GIRL comes back in distance which might be the key to her winning chances. Didn’t seem to run out the 1400 last start, however, prior to that finished third behind Loop’s Baby over 1100 and third behind Gold Keeper over 1300. That provincial maiden form should be strong enough to win this. THE BIG ONE lead them running last weekend but was no match for 2 year old Treble Maker over the last 150m. EBONY’S ACE is quick. Imagine she looks to hold out The Big One in the early stages and then has the option of handing up. DARE ME next best. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – GALAXIAN GIRL WIN RACE 4 HIDDEN RUBY won a maiden by almost 4L going back five starts ago, then finished second on three consecutive occasions behind Maidmy Way and Hole In One twice. Last weekend she was drawn barrier 10 of 10 and raced wide throughout. Thought she fought on bravely after the run she endured and kept coming to the line. On the back-up she’s drawn to get the run of the race from barrier 1. Great chance for her. MR SNIPS was huge at his Joanna Offen debut. He powered away from Trigger Finger and Aidan’s Choice at 40-1. Can he reproduce? BOONDI ROCKS will roll forward. DALMOUSIE is better than what she produced 6 weeks ago. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – HIDDEN RUBY WIN RACE 5 SEND ‘EM was poor last start. He never really travelled or looked like he was going to contest the finish and was beaten a big margin. Willing to forgive and follow up because his run two starts ago behind Californication was a ripper and the Dawn Enigma form has held up nicely since. CAPTAIN ROGERS looks to have found his feet in WA. Has improved at each and every start since arriving with Ash Grace and now on the quick back-up has found a winnable race. Unfortunately, he’s drawn barrier 10 of 10 which makes things really tough for Jordy Turner. VANCOUVER LAD is going much better now. DIVULGE ran a ripper two back. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – SEND ‘EM WIN RACE 6 KICK A GOAL SON was only nabbed on the post by Galaxy Affair last Sunday after leading for 1395m. Rises 6.5kg on the back-up but has a senior rider going back on and drops back in grade into a 58+. This looks a race which should be dominated by the class runners drawn alongside each other in barrier 1, 2 & 3. HILTON is also extremely well placed. Sneaks back into a 58+ after going around $2.40 favourite in a 70+, $5 equal favourite in the Northam Traders and a $5 chance in another 70+ behind flying galloper Talk It Up. KAKADU is another who sneaks back in grade after racing in higher for a long period. FIENDISH was luckless last week. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – KICK A GOAL SON WIN RACE 7 DAWN ENIGMA is emerging through the grades nicely. Won a C2 1620 and then a 58+ 1620 and the way he’s going it looks like he’ll be getting better as they step him out in trip. Michael Poy sticks and from the ideal draw he should go close to making it a winning hattrick. LINCOLN’S LAW always has his racing pattern against him. He’s going super and Laqdar Ramoly rides Kalgoorlie as well as anyone but he’s not easy to catch. STRATOCREED has turned a corner. He’s come down a long way in the ratings system since his last win 1009 days ago. He’ll be winning another race in the near future. DEEL RED gets it cheap. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – DAWN ENIGMA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4 1,2,3,4,5,6 1,2,3 1,3,4 Market Market
