Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on June 2, 2023June 2, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 CODIGO has looked good winning his first two starts in NZ and has trialled well leading into this campaign. SUNSOURCE kicks off his second preparation and was strong through the line in a recent jumpout. SHORESY shaped like 1200m will suit last start. STEPARTY was well backed on debut and should prove hard to run down. Selections: 1,2,3,4 Suggested Bet: Codigo to win Race 2 THE GOOD FIGHT stuck on well second up at this trip, any rain would be a bonus. D’AGUILAR backs up and the stable generally get it right regarding stretching out to unfamiliar trips. ALKAHAN was held up a touch in the Ramsden and drops in grade on his most recent runs. NEVER AGAIN, SWORDS DRAWN and TEOFILO STAR have claims. Selections: 8,3,7,9 Suggested Bet: The Good Fight each way Race 3 PARTY FOR ONE sprinted quickly to win when she got clear last time and with any luck from the draw looks the one to beat again. FORTUNATE KISS was no match for Party for One late last start but gets some weight relief from her. RUMBLED AGAIN looked an unlucky runner in the same race and is drawn to advantage. SHE’S PRETTY RICH is in the mix if she gains a start. MAC ‘N’ CHEESE should be strong late first up. Selections: 3,4,5,17 Suggested Bet: Party for One to win Race 4 LEGIO TEN resumed gelded with an impressive victory and gets right down in the weights after the claim. WHO DARES continues to race well and handled the straight last start. MIDTOWN BOSS was alongside Who Dares first up and although he might be better over slightly further will strip fitter. SGHIRRIPA has been tough on speed winning in Adelaide. Selections: 9,5,2,4 Suggested Bet: Legio Ten each way Race 5 SON OF SOLLY had no excuses chasing FIRST IMMORTAL last time but gets a significant weight turnaround after the claim. RESERVOIR DOG won well at Warrnambool and didn’t have much luck in the SA Derby. VERIFIER is a maiden but continues to show the talent to indicate he can measure up to this grade. OCEANS ABOVE and MY BROTHERS KEEPER are in the mix. Selections: 6,8,1,15 Suggested Bet: Son of Solly each way Race 6 GREY RIVER ran well over 1400m here during the Spring Carnival and had excuses at her only other test at the trip. She maps for a great run and looks the one to beat. CASTILLIAN might be looking for further but he may settle closer from the inside draw. BRUNK KING sprinted quickly to win an easier race last start but looks progressive. PRIVATE JUMBO was held up a touch las time and that form has held up well. Selections: 4,2,7,8 Suggested Bet: Grey River to win Race 7 FLASH FEELING looks well placed getting back to 2000m after closing off well over 1800m at his latest run. SHAIYHAR caught the eye over the concluding stages at his Australian debut and is sure to appreciate getting out to this trip. INDEPENDENT has a good record here and there was merit in his run in the same race as Flash Feeling. ASGOODASSOBERGETS won well in Sydney first up and respect the stable switching states. SILENT SURRENTE is flying and will make her own luck. Selections: 10,14,7,12 Suggested Bet: Flash Feeling each way Race 8 IT’SOURTIME had the right run but won with authority last time. He’s drawn to get every opportunity to run 1400m. JIMMY THE BEAR has jumped out well since his encouraging first up run and with any luck from the draw looks a strong winning hope. KING MAGNUS has returned from a lengthy break in great form. FRANKIE PINOT will be strong late and any rain would enhance his chances. CHARTERHOUSE has trialled quite well for his Australian debut. Selections: 6,7,1,3 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 6,7 & 1 Race 9 Typically even finish. TREPORTI has had a couple of recent tick over jumpouts, the most recent he was given a pretty quiet time. ZION come through that same jumpout seemed to go nicely. Couldn’t find a trial or jumpout for NO DRAMA, the late market may provide a guide as to how ‘ready’ he is. DAILY BUGLE worked through the line strongly last start and may appreciate being kept on the fresh side. Selections: 2,12,14,13 Suggested Bet: Treporti each way Market Market
