The former scraped home however MATUSALEM was cutting back the ground & would have gone past had the race been a little further. He fares better at the weights here & will relish the additional trip; confident the tables can be turned in the Waller runner’s favour. SNAPBACK an improver second up. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet: MATUSALEM TO WIN RACE 2 Happy to give REMLAP’S COMMANDER another chance here. He started favourite at his last start when winding up second last at Randwick however he drew the carpark & didn’t handle the heavy going. Since back to the trials winning on a dry surface. SUPER EXTREME is always around the mark in these races, tends to always be running on however one of these days he’ll get there in time. DEMITASSE flies fresh. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet: Box up top 3 selections in exotics RACE 3 The very consistent BROKEN ARROWS looks to have been primed for a first up tilt. His record here on the track is a good one winning 2 of 4 placing the other runs & he’s twice a winner fresh. Sharpened up with a couple of lead up trials the latest close up in good company. No luck first up for TURNING, won 2 of 3 second up & drawn perfectly for Nash Rawiller has to be the logical danger. DIAMOND DIESEL is lightly raced & consistent with plenty of upside. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 12 – 10 Suggested Bet: BROKEN ARROWS EACH-WAY RACE 4 Looking for some market support for the ex-Victorian DREAM HOUR who will be having his first run for the Kris lees yard. He motored home finishing just out of the placings first up in a good race at Flemington before too far back in a dash home latest. Competitive in better races last prep I’m expecting a forward showing at his local debut. MISS MADISON close up both runs this time in, won third up last prep. FALL FOR CINDY was good/unlucky in Group 3 company two back before making amends back to midweek grade last start. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet: DREAM HOUR EACH-WAY RACE 5 I’m with the ex-French galloper HOMETRUTHS who should be ready to show her best third run in the country. Big odds & likely needing the hit out first up she then improved sharply her latest making ground on the worst part of the track at Hawkesbury. She’s placed at group 3 level in France & will relish the step up in distance. BISCAYNE BAY in the place mix. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet: HOMETRUTHS EACH-WAY RACE 6 I’m with the resuming VOWMASTER who has only missed a placing once first up in 3 attempts & that includes a win. Just the 3 outings last prep opening up with a strong finishing second first up just missing out before clocking in 3rd behind the smart King Of Sparta on Magic Millions Day at the Gold Coast. Trialled well & this trip is perfect. KIN the big danger, form good last prep particularly at the beginning. COMMAND APPROVED & WINNING VERSE both also resume & are more than capable when fresh. Numbers: 2 – 13 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet: VOWMASTER EACH-WAY RACE 7 Quality field to go around in this year’s Takeover Target. Connections of FASHION LEGEND have decided to go around here in preference to the Gold Coast Guineas at the Sunshine Coast. He was terrific last prep winning 4 of his 5 starts culminating in the Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast, I’ve been impressed with his two lead up trial wins (soft, dominant) & at the odds on offer will confidently support him each-way. No knock THINK ABOUT IT who was also flying last prep, wide gate could make it tough. Ditto SHADES OF ROSE who drops back plenty in grade though. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet: FASHION LEGEND EACH-WAY RACE 8 Going with the Waller runner WELWAL who importantly takes the rise to 1600m. His past couple have been good solid efforts running home well in an on-paced 1500m Doncaster Prelude to beat all bar the winner before back to 1400m again running on his latest. Although up in the weights he draws well & I’m convinced he’s looking for this longer trip. PALMETTO is having a good prep, nothing went right yet he still placed first up, second up he was dominant at Hawkesbury. Cannot leave out THALASSOPHILE. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet: WELWAL EACH-WAY RACE 9 I’m leaning to the consistent DIAMIL in the Cup who hasn’t done much wrong of late. He hit the line strongly in the on-pace favoured Doncaster Prelude before up to the 2000m winning at Randwick. Rises in weight however maps to gain a soft run. DESERT ICON will go around in this over the Hollindale, obviously going well his second up record is a good one. Wouldn’t undersell BOIS D’ARGENT who had good staying form in France, fitter for one run back. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet: Box up first 4 selections in exotics RACE 10 Thought GARRISON looked value in this last race. Seems to be at his best when on the fresh side & comes into today’s race not having started for just over 9 weeks. He likes to lead or sit on pace which he can do from the good gate & there doesn’t look to be much in the way of tempo likely. SHORT SHORTS was well fancied last week before scratched due to the deteriorating track, can bounce back here. Big watch on FLAG OF HONOUR who has good ability, resumes off a bleed & has won a recent trial here. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet: GARRISON EACH-WAY Market Market
