Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 17, 2021August 17, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PRAIRIE ANGEL steps up in trip to the staying distance for the first time, however, the way she has been racing suggests that it will be right up her alley. Brian Kersley gets his horses very fit and Brad Parnham has a gate to work with. Showed something last start when finishing off strongly behind Decoy Belle, Gratias Deo and Poster Art. Even prior to that beaten 7L behind Buster Bash and Memorable Miss isn’t the worst form for a staying maiden. SHE WHO DARES arguably should have won last start after finding traffic at a crucial stage in the home straight. Huge query on the quality of the form considering Kebalah and Captain Cut chimed in half way down the straight. SUNDAY GIN is only having his second start for Ray Vincent. Ray is improving these tried types. Keep safe. DANCE OF THE SOUTH hasn’t had much luck in Kalgoorlie. Looks to be going well. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – PRAIRIE ANGEL WIN RACE 2 MY FURY ticks all the boxes in this 3 year old 1300m maiden. Luckless second on debut behind Oceanic Rider, huge when deep throughout in the Group 3 Sires Produce, resumed off a 450m jump out when finishing third behind The Front Bar in a form race that we’ll get a good insight into on Wednesday at Belmont. Drawn a gate, gets the right run and you get the feeling Darren McAuliffe’s yard is about to go bang. HE’S A LUCKY LAD and MY CONVICTION come from a yard who has been going bang for 6 months. Adam Durrant is wheeling out a stack of maidens at the minute and a lot of them look highly talented. Really liked the trial of MY CONVICTION. CHANG MAN met with support on debut and ran well. Just has a tricky draw to overcome. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – MY FURY WIN RACE 3 MADAME WU makes her debut for Hayden Ballantyne who is starting to make a name for himself quickly in the thoroughbred training caper. 80 career runners, 12 winners at 15% strike rate and 10+ POT. Madame Wu has trialled over a couple of preparations and shown ability in each of them. Drawn the inside gate, Paul Harvey to ride and should kick through to lead in a race without much pressure. Gets her chance from there. SOUTHSTAR has been a maiden for a long while but from the draw this is clearly one of her better chances to break through. SONGS AND LYRICS was a trial which caught the eye along the fence and was supported late in betting on debut. Worth forgiving and following onto a better surface. HOT TONIC has a senior on and can get across to breeze. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MADAME WU WIN RACE 4 MYSTERY MOMENT is one of a number of Cerise and White debutantes who will be unveiled over the next few weeks from the trials. Always a difficult period for doing form as they’re not all super stars (but some of the them are). The market seems to have a pretty good handle on which ones are good and which ones are moderate. This filly looked well and truly above average at trials and in an all age maiden gets big weight on most rivals. MIAMI CITY has been around a while and always promised to win one. From the draw Pateman can get across to breeze or even roll to the top to make a race of it. MASARU has hit the line well in both career runs. ZEEWIJK an improver for a new yard with a stack of gear changes. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – MYSTERY MOMENT WIN RACE 5 BENTLEY BEAU was put into the race a long way from home at his most recent outing when taking off and shooting to the top. Paul Harvey and the hot odds on favourite Cheerful Moment had him within his sights the entire and duly ran him down but Bentley Beau lost no admirers. Drawn another sticky alley but if he can get across without burning too much petrol, then he showed enough grit last start to win this. RAN A RED LIGHT has caught the eye at three of the four runs this campaign. Going well and getting closer. PREPARE FOR CHANGE was a plunge horse last start and narrowly missed. Should get every chance from the draw. GOLDEN TIARA has done nothing wrong in her three starts. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – BENTLEY BEAU WIN RACE 6 I’M A DREAMER is yet another 3 year old debutante from the Adam Durrant yard who looked the goods at trials recently. Always hard to have great confidence assessing those heinous 930m Lark Hill trials but he looked to be covering the ground nicely when finishing behind a hugely talented one in Arcadia Grace. The trial form is worth following from that. ETHICAL SECRET gives young apprentice Tyla Becker a great opportunity to break through on the grass. Horse is flying, barrier helps and after her claim he gets in with a winnable weight. Should be there in the finish. SPARKLING JEWEL is from a well-known Bob Peters staying family. Has had a lot of trials and looks like she’ll need every inch of the 1400. VALENZA maps to get the ideal run one out and one back. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – I’M A DREAMER WIN RACE 7 OUR BOY DYLAN looks to have found an ideal race at his return to racing. Neville Parker has placed him well into a C5 and his two wins last campaign were excellent. A first-up no trial win in a C1 with 59.5kg when romping in to win by 1.5L soft and then at the end of the preparation in a Saturday 3 year old handicap beating Sassy Trader and Divine Pair. Loved the recent trial under Lucy Warwick and drawn the outside fence he should prove hard to beat. AY TEE EMM filled pockets nationwide in a heart-warming plunge first-up. He loves the straight racing and can definitely win again. JANAURA is quick and will come out humming. DANNY GEORGE is no stranger to straight racing but reading between the lines must have a few issues. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – OUR BOY DYLAN WIN RACE 8 SPECIAL VIEW is well placed by Hayden Ballantyne back into a C3. Won in this grade, at this distance at Belmont first-up off the back of an impressive 950m trial at Lark Hill when beating Convicted Man and Gunmetal Grey. Last start had to do too much work and didn’t look comfortable when beaten a long way behind Nobel Laurence, Reign of Fire and Jedi Mind. Wining 3 year old form race back to a C3 and after the claim actually carries half a kilo less than when winning in this grade a month ago. SUN CHACEN chased hard down the straight at his return to racing. EXCERPT is drawn to get a lovely midfield run. ANGELIQUE’S FAME is never far from the winner but is struggling to break through. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL VIEW WIN RACE 9 DAD’S BIGHEADED and OLDEN both come from the same race behind Ghobella and both look well placed coming from 3 year old 0MWLY racing back into C1 company. For Dad’s Bigheaded it’s the first time since he ran second behind Written Matter (beating home Elafella and Justhandy). Since then he has finished around the mark in a C3 and 0MWLY 3 year old grade. Needs luck from the draw but has the right form. OLDEN has weight on his back but has always looked above average. Taken a while for the penny to drop. LINCOLNS LAW couldn’t have done any more than he did first-up when tramping deep and still looming the winner. SIR RACHELOT takes luck out of the equation by leading. Won in style last start. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – DAD’S BIGHEADED WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,5,9,10 1,2 1,2,3,4,7 1,2,3,5,8,10,13 Market Market
