Deane Lester’s Flemington Best Bets Posted on June 18, 2021June 18, 2021 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 4 NO.9 POYSED TO REIN Adelaide visitor POYSED TO REIN has returned to racing in great form and looks the one to beat again when she contests the Mares Benchmark 90 Handicap (1420m). The daughter of Sepoy lugged 61kg and came from well back on a leaders track to score a brilliant first-up win over 1250 metres at Morphettville Parks on June 5. She will be fitter for that run, drops 7 kg, gets the services of leading rider Jamie Kah and is yet to miss a place in three previous runs at 1400 metres. She handles soft ground and makes strong appeal as the best bet of the day. RACE 8 NO.13 DICE ROLL Former French and Hong Kong galloper DICE ROLL has been a revelation since joining the Nick Ryan stable and can make it a hat trick of wins when he runs in the Quality Handicap (1400m). The six year old scored a tough first-up win over 1400 metres at Caulfield on April 17 before proving too classy for a handy field over 1400 metres at Sandown Hillside on May 1. Whilst both of those wins have been on good (3) tracks, he has a solid record on soft ground in Europe so the conditions will be to his liking. Talented rider Fred Kersley takes the mount from a good draw and DICE ROLL looks ideally placed to continue on his winning way. RACE 9 NO.8 HI STRANGER HI STRANGER is a good talent that races well fresh and looks a value chance when he runs in the Quality Sprint (1100m). The four year old has won three of five races fresh, has good straight track form, good wet track form and comes off a good campaign which included a win in the Echuca Cup (1400m) last March. He’s a very honest horse that is never far away at the end of his races and appears over the odds in a competitive sprint race. Market Market
