Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 18, 2021May 18, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BREAD TO FLIRT ran fourth behind Miss Livinia in a hot 1000m straight scamper on debut before backing it up with a narrow defeat again down the straight. Went round the bend for the first time at her most recent and was plunged in betting when luckless. Back down the straight, back to 1000m and drawn ideally against the outside fence. Gets her chance. KILL THE LIGHTS went well in a recent trial and his two efforts down the straight were solid. SCHUHPLATTER is drawn on the ‘wrong’ side and is likely to open short as she did on debut. Clearly a danger but opens up the race from a betting perspective. MOGUL MAGIC is jump and run. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – BREAD TO FLIRT WIN RACE 2 TOTAL LOCKDOWN looked to have a set of shades on in his most recent trial when hitting the front, running around, looking around and floating. Chris Parnham rides on debut, no head gear and a gate where he has options. Has sufficient speed to lead or can take a sit on them. Watch the market. MY MARLAINA trialled like a filly who would be winning races early in her career. TWICE LUCKY had nothing go right on debut. Keep safe at big odds in a deep race. GIDGET THE MIDGET looked to have a motor and Lou Luciani is a genius with the 400m jump outs. Numbers: 7 – 11 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – TOTAL LOCKDOWN WIN RACE 3 CELEBRITY MAN looked vulnerable on debut when striking a Heavy8 track and looked to be spinning the wheels. Will always come with high expectations on breeding alone but does look to have enough ability to be winning here. Will get back, so is heavily price dependent. TREVERN was narrowly defeated last start. Drops 1.5kg, drawn again to lead and on exposed race form looks to have the measure of the stablemate? Could be a Jim Taylor smokescreen. JEDI MIND showed glimpses in her initial preparation. Solid trial recently under the stable apprentice. SMOKER hasn’t been seen for over a month. Has done nothing wrong to date. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY MAN WIN RACE 4 PETITE LA FEMME gets her chance. This will be an opinion dividing race. Do you tip the 20-start maiden who is coming back from Saturday racing outside the handicap or do you knock her as a ‘nonny’? Her form in 58+ & 60+ company over the last few months has been excellent and here’s hoping she gets the win she deserves. STAR SUBJECT ran well on debut and then backed it up with a solid on speed effort at her second outing. Looks to have a motor. BODELLA caught the eye on debut in a race which has already produced a subsequent winner. YARDMAN gets every mortal hope from the draw. Numbers: 7 – 12 – 13 – 1 Suggested Bet – PETITE LA FEMME WIN RACE 5 WHAT ABOUT MOI looks a 3 year old who will only get better and better with racing. Would have been the biggest moral beat in WA if he got rolled in his maiden two starts ago after bolting behind heels until getting out when the race looked over. Far from disgraced in a 60+ Graduation at the end of his preparation and trialled up nicely recently. Can start to go through the grades. SANS LE SOU looks a fresh commodity. Trains off quickly historically so if you’re going to get her it’ll be first-up. VANE TEMPEST has a few gear changes and has undeniable talent. SECRET STATUE likely settles last and concedes a head start to a few handy ones. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – WHAT ABOUT MOI WIN RACE 6 WIENER WALTZ looks well placed here by Steele Casey. Won a C3 three starts ago at 1200m when leading throughout at Ascot, then went to a C5 at York when going under as favourite behind subsequent winners Super Ex and Fair Joy. Most recently went round in a 70+ at Kalgoorlie when leading for a long way at 1300. Drops back in grade, back in trip and gets in well weighted after the clever use of Holly Watson’s claim. BLOW ME OUT gets back in her races but has won both of her races first-up. MATERIAL WITNESS looks to be screaming out for 1200m. LUCY DA GREY always sneaks under the radar. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – WIENER WALTZ WIN RACE 7 FIERY WATER is lightly raced and starting to build an imposing record. From the barrier gets the gun run behind the speed (Uncle Lino, My Greek Boy, Super Teroitoa) and should be presenting at the right time. These Adam Durrant bread and butter horses are flying and there’s no reason why he can’t win again. MY GREEK BOY was perfectly placed into this grade last start and with Salon Du Cheval in the field he stays in the same class without weight penalty. TONKATUFF is always worth a speck in this grade. Sneaks under the radar. DEPUTANO was the target of big money first-up and it looked like 60kg got hold of her. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – FIERY WATER WIN RACE 8 CONVALESCE brings alternate form coming from C2 races at Albany. The way he is racing he’s clearly a work in progress and looking for this kind of trip. Run was better than it reads last start when tramping deep throughout and the form held up quite well through the Sunday Albany meeting. Shaun McGruddy on, back to a C1, drawn better. Big improver. VELVET ROOM comes from a C1 run 4.5L faster than average which has already produced a C3 winner in Said No One Ever. ENGLISH HERITAGE comes from the same race and was backed as if unbeatable. MISS MARANTA has returned to racing well. Just might be looking for further. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – CONVALESCE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 4,5,6,7 1,2,6 2,3,4,5,7,8 2,3,5,6,8,12 Market Market
