Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 5, 2021May 5, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SPICED DELIGHT comes from one of the stronger form reference races of the last 6 months for maiden company. Finished fourth (as beaten favourite) behind Just a Pinch and subsequent winners Billy Ray and Born Spicy, beating home plunge Sunday winner Spirited Session. Drawn the ‘wrong’ side of the straight but has blistering natural speed. BLUE EYED GIRL is the kind of horse who would be suited to 1000m straight racing. CUT THE CORD has trialled up well and Hayden Ballantyne’s yard is firing on all cylinders. BOONDI ROCKS ran well fresh. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPICED DELIGHT WIN RACE 2 MISS EUGEN put the writing on the wall on debut. Finished fifth beaten almost 4L but in a white-hot Saturday set weights and penalties race. Flying Missile and Ultimate Command were coming out of the Karrakatta Plate, Astrape looks like a Saturday filly and Ain’t No Other Man has been in great form this preparation. Drops back to a maiden and is like the target of strong money. SOCKOFF was the target of backing first-up coming off an impressive 1000m straight trial victory. The money missed as she was found wanting late and finished a fading fifth behind Kaymay, Queen’s Gift and Story Book. Solid form for a 2yo maiden and kept fresh. ROYAL GAP comes from the same race as Miss Eugen and ran well enough. GROND BRAKER ran two solid races in his initial campaign. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MISS EUGEN WIN RACE 3 TREASURED PRIZE should resume a winner. Nearly an identical profile to Sunday’s Cerise and White winner Perfect Gem, these Bob Peters 3 year olds come back bigger and better in their second preparation. Hard to ignore the trial and should prove too classy. JUSTHANDY comes into maiden company and has finished in the money behind Gemma’s Son, Queen Brown, She’s God to You and Island Charm. Handy form lines. CHIX FLIX is drawn awkwardly but going well. TREVERN was all at sea down the straight. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – TREASURED PRIZE WIN RACE 4 STAR STORM was allowed to roll by Brad Parnham last Wednesday at Ascot and seemed to really appreciate it. It was an onspeed day and a weak maiden so there will be a few queries over the form but this is not a lot deeper. CHADS ME DAD ran well on debut and we’ll get a good sighter of the strength of that race through Bread To Flirt at Ascot Wednesday. BARONOVA travelled up well first-up and couldn’t go with the likes of Strawberry Mist and Vanman. GARAGE DAYS resumed very well behind a smart filly. Just needs luck from the draw. Numbers: 11 – 13 – 12 – 4 Suggested Bet – STAR STORM WIN RACE 5 TREAT YO SELF should be too strong for well exposed opposition. Scratched from Saturday to save for this much easier race should prove a very astute move. Returned to racing in super order when nosed out first-up at 1705 and then dominating them in strong time at Ascot over 1800m second-up. Stays in the same grade and stays at the same weight after the claim. UNENDING comes back to C3 company and her form through Koranis reads up well. CREZEE and TOP TRADE ran the quinella in a weak C1 last start. Tougher race for both. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – TREAT YO SELF WIN RACE 6 ZACKARIAH BEAU is in brilliant form this campaign. Trialled up nicely and then let loose late fresh when gunning down King’s Authority and Me N Taz in a 0MWLY at Ascot before showing it was no fluke when pushing in form 3 year old Fiery Bay to a head. Proven on wet tracks, racing well and tends to get back in his races regardless of barrier draw. SIR MAMBO backs up off 5 days, drops 5kg and draws a gate. Love the placement and use of the claim. NOBLE REFELCETION is honest and consistent and Holly Watson is going at an incredible 12%. BEFFUNJAR has form in far stronger company than this. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – ZACKARIAH BEAU EACHWAY RACE 7 STRAWBERRY MIST flashed ability five starts ago when charging down the outside into second behind Warcidium. Since then, went to a Natasha Stakes, WA Oaks, C1 2300m and then did exactly as expected last start when dropping back to a mile and toying with them. Looks an improving filly. TRADEM IN ran well first-up and then was beaten by the narrowest of margins last start in a bob of the heads. SOVIET SPY dominated them at Albany. Questionable form race but did it in style. TICK ALONG comes back in trip and is ultra-consistent. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – STRAWBERRY MIST WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5,11,12,13 3 1,2,3,6,7,9,10,12 1,4,5,7,8,9 Market Market
