Scott Embry’s Saturday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on March 26, 2021March 26, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ALCINA hasn’t won for a long, long time but her three runs for new trainer Josh Forder-Brown have been excellent. Knocking on the door, no weight after the claim for an emerging apprentice and in a field of only 4 runners she gets her best chance yet. BYE FELECIA gets her opportunity to lead and win with the early scratching of likely leader Tramontane. Won an Esperance maiden leading throughout by over 4.5L. PURE DYNAMITE can easily make it two on the bounce after being crunched and scoring at Narrogin. MARMALISA fourth of the four. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – ALCINA WIN RACE 2 ORNAMENTAL BELLE ran well in all three runs last preparation for Teagan Klun. Ran home nicely on debut at 100-1 when finishing only 4L off talented type Royal Soldier and then ran back to back second placings in Esperance maidens. Shades on, drawn well and no weight give her as good a chance as any in a wide open maiden. OUR NORMAN impressed at trials when winning at Lark Hill. Has a bit to learn but looks to have ability. DOUBLE RUSH will rush forward and that’s likely to be the place to be on opening meeting. GUARDED is very limited but this isn’t deep. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – ORNAMENTAL BELLE WIN RACE 3 JONO has been knocking on the door over the last couple of campaigns in metro maidens at Ascot and Belmont. Now ventures out to the Goldfields and after the claim for a very in form Keshaw Dhurun looks well placed to score. Should enjoy the run of the race and looks a great race for him. SPRING TO LIFE ran second at Benalla in November last year. MR Peter Fernie improves them and it would be no surprise to see him plunged and score. EMERALD ROSE is a life time maiden who runs good races without winning. JOLLY LACE was flying late in the Esperance season. Just needs luck. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – JONO WIN RACE 4 TRIGGERFISH is rock hard fit coming out of Albany and finds a new home with Ashley Grace. Four starts ago finished a distant third, behind Fangio and God Has Chosen. Then finished within 1.5L of Kazkazi and Feels Hot. Four to inform pair Starauthoress and HIghfriar before running into Classic Rogue and Choose To Cruise. Plenty of winning form around him and this looks a good race for him. THREE EZE ran 5th to Sanabreanna, Massimo and Laverrod in a Lee Steere Stakes as a 3 year old. If Dave Smith can turn back the clock he’ll have a nice horse on his hands. NEAT ACTION drops a lot in class. TOO FAT TOO SLOW (aka Fewksey) an improver from the inside. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRIGGERFISH WIN RACE 5 PARIS REPORT finds a new home in the care of Jayden Thomas at Neverstop Lodge. Resumed in a m58+ when tramping deep in a race won by emerging mare Universal Pleasure, dominated late in a Geraldton 58+ and then had no luck along the inside at her next start. Should enjoy a soft run and can definitely measure up in this. Siefa returning a sign of things to come from the yard. CLOAK AND DAGGER is going really well and see no reason why Cloaky can’t salute for the Bretts in a race honouring Crow Stewart. WHIM CREEK and BALLADEER both enjoyed break out preparations in Esperance and can hold form. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – PARIS REPORT WIN RACE 6 MR GENOA is a noted fresh horse who resumes first-up no trial for the powerful LK & MR Fernie Racing juggernaut. First-up no trial (5/10/19) won by 3.3L, First-up no trial (6/6/2020) third to Black Ducati and Massimo in a 72+ at Belmont, First-up no trial (3/10/2020) sixth beaten under a length in a 66+. Blinkers on, he takes beating. STRATOCREED rates up really well for a race like this and can go well fresh. WOCKNWOLL has promised to go through the grades. HELMS GATE carries a big weight but is hard to fault. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – MR GENOA WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,4 3,4,5 4,5,6,8,10 1,2,3,4,11 Market Market
