Scott Embry’s Saturday Collie Preview Posted on October 22, 2020October 23, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FEMME PUISSANTE is 37 days between runs on the fresh side and you would think that Col Haddon would get the choice of Tom Pike gallopers. Regardless this mare has the form on the board and should nearly lead them from gate 2. If she can find the top she’s the one to run down. KHAVIYAR is the stablemate and showed glimpse at the trials last season. KINDER KINDER has run some super races on soft tracks. Interesting to see how she goes on the dirt. RETURN has pace but can be found wanting the last 50. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – FEMME PUISSANTE WIN RACE 2 PHEONIX OF WIT really pushed Perfect Harmony last start at Moora and Perfect Harmony has since run second in a C3 to Miss Marietta at Ascot midweek. Should roll straight to the top for Simone Altieri and was scratched from town on Wednesday to be saved for this. Should prove hard to run down. MAJOR LEAGUE is knocking on the door and Tom Pike is one of the Kings of the Dirt. PYRO and KEBALAH are perennial maidens and it would be great to see either of them finally break through after racing consistently their entire careers. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PHEONIX OF WIT WIN RACE 3 STIRLING ESTATE is having his 29th run of the preparation. Amazing job by Jimmy Grieve to keep him up for so long and so competitive in town. At his most recent start he ran second to the Winterbottom nominated Eeyore Wayz when beating home dual subsequent winner Specail Choice. Prior to that was only 4L off Long Beach, Condor Heroes and This’ll Testya. If he handles the surface he’ll take real beating. MISS MERIT is jump and run and with the shades back on you can expect her to burn along. ROADRAGER is another who has been more than competitive in town since arriving in WA. BERNARDINI GENIE is the one who is proven on the surface and continues to hold form. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – STIRLING ESTATE WIN RACE 4 ME ‘N’ TAZ should bounce to the front for Hannah Fitzgerald and on ratings that’s the last they’ll see of him. His effort three starts ago behind Cristal Dane and Super Teroitoa in a C5 run 6L faster than average would see him win this by panels. Stays out of trouble and he’ll run them ragged. Will be plenty poised and waiting to see if there’s any sign of black figures. PAIR OF FIVEZ was an improver last start but still racing well below his best. UBER MOVER ran some cheeky races when last in work. MONASH should find this a fair bit easier than his last few. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – ME ‘N’ TAZ WIN RACE 5 ANDREINI won the Moora Cup in style, eased down by over 3.5L. Only goes up 1kg with Hannah Fitzgerald going on and when you consider most of his main rivals come form that exact same form race it makes him hard to beat. ABELDANE mixes his form like cheap cocktails but his best is easily good enough to put on a galloping exhibition. OMBUDSMAN looks like being a nice pick-up for Darryn Pateman’s team. TELL ME THIS doesn’t know how to run a bad race and the 11 year old veteran is pleading with connections to give him another go next season the way he is racing. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ANDRIENI WIN RACE 6 SPORTY SPICE ran well when resuming for a new yard. Paige Kenney does a wonderful job with her little team and it could be a big day in the saddle for emerging apprentice Hannah Fitzgerald as we tip her to win three on the trot. This mare is talented enough to win in the metro/provincial area and in a wide open race looks the hardest to beat. MISS CIRCLEWORK was the target of support a few times last preparation and ran well. BACKTOBEVERLEY is talented enough to win a race of this nature. Bronwyn Mathieson almost produced a winner first-up no trial last week so no reason why this one can’t win. KLONDIKE KENNY can be hard to catch but is going well. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – SPORTY SPICE WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,4,6 2 1,2,4,6 2,5,6,7,9 Market Market
