Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 22, 2020October 22, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 SAVVY BROMAC (4) has one win and three 2nds from her four starts since arriving in WA. She faced the breeze when 2nd in solid time at her last start and has a significant barrier advantage over her main rivals. STAR FROMTHEPALACE (12) ran 3rd to BROADBEACH (7) at her first run this time in before defeating an easier field and must be considered. BROADBEACH (7) defeated a similar field at her last start but isn’t as well drawn tonight. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (9) is first-up and is drawn poorly but has the ability to figure. Tips: 4 12 7 9 Suggested Bet: STAR FROMTHEPALACE (12) each way. Race 2 CAPTAIN KIRK (1) has been unplaced at his part three starts after drawing badly. He looks the leader tonight and should prove very hard to catch. MY CARBON COPY (7) couldn’t make up the ground in a 27.1 final quarter when 3rd here last week but will appreciate the drop in class and looks a major player. JACK WILLIAM (5) has faced the breeze and been placed at his past four starts and that scenario looks likely again. DESTINED TO RULE (2) is racing well and can be dangerous from this draw. Tips: 1 7 5 2 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN KIRK (1) to win. Race 3 MATTJESTIC STAR (1) led throughout over this distance in 1.55.8 four starts back. He hasn’t reproduced that effort since but should lead tonight and give them something to catch. CANT REFUSE (2) was a dominant first-up winner but then didn’t handle the staying trip here last week after breezing. He looks better suited tonight and can bounce back. LIAM NEIL (4) has impressed in winning his last two starts and is ready for the rise in class. DREDLOCK ROCKSTAR (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous. Tips: 1 2 4 10 Suggested Bet: DREDLOCK ROCKSTAR (10) each way. Race 4 IM SOXY (1) was crossed by Patrickthepiranha from this draw when 2nd to that pacer here last week. He looks a good chance to hold up tonight and will give a great sight. ELOQUENT MACH (4) worked hard in the final lap when a game 4th in that race and should be right in the finish. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (10) finished 6th in that event but will enjoy a nicer trip tonight and shouldn’t be far away. ALWAYS AN HONOUR (8) disappointed at his last start but Gary Hall Jnr has stuck with him so he should be considered. Tips: 1 4 10 8 Suggested Bet: IM SOXY (1) to win. Race 5 VAMPIRO (1) has performed well behind Chicago Bull without threatening in his three starts back from as spell. He gets his chance to lead tonight and should prove hard to beat. GALACTIC STAR (4) was backed to beat Chicago Bull last start but couldn’t handle the pressure and looks better suited against this field. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (9) was a brave 2nd at his first start after a long break but is likely to have work hard in the run. STROKE OF LUCK (2) is drawn to get a soft trip on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 4 9 2 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (1) to win. Race 6 PERFECT MAJOR (10) has been ultra-impressive in winning his first two starts in WA. He goes up in class and is awkwardly drawn but still appeals as the one to beat. EUPHORIC MOMENT (1) hasn’t been beginning quickly and is likely to be crossed but will be thereabouts if he has any luck. THE VERANDAH (2) was placed behind PERFECT MAJOR (10) on Monday and shouldn’t be far away again. ALTA INTRIGUE (6) will be fitter for his first start in over two years and could be a big improver. Tips: 10 1 2 6 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIC MOMENT (1) each way. Race 7 BALCATHERINE (2) is a lightly-raced mare who has shown plenty of ability in her 13 race starts. She resumes here without a trial but should lead and prove very hard to beat. WAINUI CREEK (10) faced the breeze and just failed to run down the leader in a 27.3 last quart at her first start in the state and looks set for a great campaign. MANDY JOAN (3) was a strong 3rd from the breeze at her last start and won’t be far away from this draw. TYPHOON TIFF (8) is flying but has a tough draw to overcome again. Tips: 2 10 3 8 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (2) to win. Race 8 J B MAUNEY (8) has won four of his past five starts, all from the stand. He sprinted brilliantly to win on Monday and is clearly the one to beat tonight. FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY (10) ran a nice 3rd in that race and should be in the finish again. DELIGHTFULREACTION (9) will be charging home and can be placed if she gets the right trip in transit. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (11) is the best horse in the event and must be considered but has a 50m handicap to overcome. Tips: 8 10 9 11 Suggested Bet: J B MAUNEY (8) to win. Race 9 LORD ROSCO (2) used his blistering gate speed to great effect when crossing and leading throughout last week. He has crossed the polemarker before and will be hard to catch if he finds the top. RAKASINC (1) would be short odds if he managed to hold up at the start but did beat home LORD ROSCO (2) after being crossed at their last meeting and must be considered. MARAS ACE MAN (4) was a solid 2nd to LORD ROSCO (2) last week and will be a winning chance if there is more tempo tonight. ARMA INDIE (5) looks the next best. Tips: 2 1 4 5 Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (2) to win. Race 10 MARQUISARD (1) wasn’t suited when off the track at his first run back from a spell but looks a big improver from the pole tonight. LIGHTNING JOLT (4) hit the line nicely when 3rd in the same race and can play a part with the right trip. QUICK STRIDE (10) was held up for a run last start and should be dangerous late if he sees daylight at the right time. THEREUGO (9) drops in class on his recent assignments and will give a sight if he manages to cross at the start. Tips: 1 4 10 8 Suggested Bet: MARQUISARD (1) to win. Market Market
