Scott Embry’s Saturday Moora Preview Posted on October 8, 2020October 8, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 THE DIVINE WIND was wide the trip first-up at Geraldton and never got in at any stage. Did a super job to finish fifth and his trial was solid too. Start number 35 for him but in a 4 horse field, with less weight than any of his rivals and with Keshaw Dhurun fresh off a clinic at Mt Magnet last week (5 winners from 6 races) he should be saluting. RETURN has had a lot of chances also but this looks a good race for her. FAMOUS OUTLAW is first-up and can show early speed. REDWOOD RANSOM fourth of the four after a disappointing start to the prep. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – FIRST 4 IN ORDER: 1/4/3,2/3,2 RACE 2 PERFECT HARMONY on weights and measures should win this by absolute panels of fencing. First time Moora is on Sky and this could be a space job. Jumps straight to the top for Jerry Noske and that should be the last they see of the mare. Coming out of a Northam maiden run 5L faster than average and she was doing all the work three deep no cover. LUCKY ESCAPE ran a ripper last start at Geraldton when off the track and luckless throughout. IN LUCK maps well. GET THE GOODS going along alright and no doubt Jim Good will be out in the short shorts hoping to fill the pockets. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PERFECT HARMONY WIN RACE 3 PAIR OF FIVEZ is second up this preparation and didn’t get warm at Mt Magnet first-up. Key riding change with Simone Altieri going on because Simone has won on him and ridden him to a further six minor placings. If he can work his way to the top from the wide gate he is a big improver and capable of winning. COSMIC REFLECTION has only won the one race from 28 outings but her recent form in the provincial area has been super. Clearly the danger. KNUCKLE DOWN has only his second start for the Barry Newnham yard but this is a great option for him. Ran some cheeky races in Carnarvon. BLAST an improver after a lacklustre start to his WA career. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – PAIR OF FIVEZ WIN RACE 4 SCOTOPIA went straight into the blackbook 10 days ago when running an eye-catching race in a 58+ at Geraldton. Gets into this with only 1kg more and with any ounce of luck from a sticky gate should be right in the finish. Sean Rains could have run him in Geraldton Sunday but makes the trip to Moora instead. STIRDE OUT is a dirt specialist and simple loves to find the front. If Spuds Galati can get him to the top he’s hard to run down. MISS HARLEY QUINN has been knocking on the door in similar grade for a long while and deserves a victory. MONASH made them look silly at Junction two starts ago. Worth consideration. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – SCOTOPIA EACHWAY RACE 5 PLEAD THE FITH was about to be retired two starts ago at York when her loyal connections took the families out on a road trip for her swansong. Ran a ripper when only nabbed late on the line by an inform Frosty Heart and added another month or two to her racing career. Last start was in a 72+ well and truly outside the handicap and actually ran out of her skin to be only beaten 4.5L by Leading Girl, Mosseratti, Paddy’s Shadow, Double Digit and Mackenzie Brooke. She beat home Noir De Rue who was backed into $5 in the Kalgoorlie Cup. Has to be a big hope in this. TELL ME THIS doesn’t know how to run a bad race and will stay all day. BALLIDU BOMBER won the Mt Magnet Cup in a slog and lifted under the strength of the race caller (watch the replay #scenes). ANDREINI always a winning chance in this grade. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PLEAD THE FIFTH WIN RACE 6 SPORTING IMAGE is first-up off 141 days and is drawn the inside gate. If Victoria Cover can leave cleanly then he should be able to kick up underneath Just a Fluke and land into the box seat and enjoy every chance. Trained locally (I believe) and should be a big show on his home track. JUST A FLUKE only knows one way and that is to jump and run. Simone Altieri rides to those instructions better than anyone. QUIRINDI was knocking on the door in Carnarvon all season. SWANKY LASS has hit a purple patch of form since joining Darryn Pateman. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – SPORTING IMAGE EACHWAY Quad (R3 – R6) 2,7 2,3,6,8 2,3,4,5,7,8 2,6,7,8,9 Market Market
