Scott Embry’s Monday Northam Preview Posted on May 30, 2020May 29, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ALBY’S PRIDE has been going really well and the last three have been as good as each other. Laqdar is riding him well and even though he may settle last in the run he can sustain it from the 600. TYPHOON BEN was incredibly well backed on Wednesday at Ascot and backs-up again. Should find the top and will be the fittest horse. FINAL CHILL beat Typhoon Ben home on Wednesday and is also off 5 days. RIDING HOOD FAME is going well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ALBY’S PRIDE WIN RACE 2 SWEETASSA looks a great jump and run type for opening meeting over 1000m at Northam. The recent trial was hard to ignore when eased down over the concluding stages. Regally bred and should prove hard to beat. UNIVERSAL PLEASURE is one that many trial watchers would have been waiting for. Finishes top 2 and is definitely capable of testing the favourite. Draws the inside gate and that is a big plus. Quinellas for days. BABYTINO next best but a fair bit off the top two. PROTECTED ACTION next. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SWEETASSA WIN RACE 3 PALAVER ran second to Agent Jay last time out and that has been made to look pretty strong maiden form. 39 days between runs and from the gate can either lead or box seat for a highly in-form Lucy Warwick. JOYRIZE didn’t fire a shot at the trials and didn’t show up on race day fresh either but Pike replaces a 4kg claiming apprentice. FAIR JUSTICE ran a nice race on debut and the trial suggests she’ll be winning races. WILD VALLEY has not run to market expectations at her two outings to date. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – PALAVER WIN RACE 4 DOOWAHDIDDY was the target of strong money last start when $17 into $4.8 and finding bad traffic turning for home. Then got struck over the nose with a rival rider’s whip and unsuccessfully protested against second. This is a thinner race and she should open her account (provided the track isn’t too soft). DUSTYPARK is consistent but certainly no world beater. The claim helps. I FORGOT has duck eggs to her name but can improve quickly drawn a gate. JACK IN THE BLACK up from Albany next best. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – DOOWAHDIDDY WIN RACE 5 STAROF BONNIE ROSE is going to have a lot of punters divided. Was a super run three starts back when third at Ascot in a very similar (and stronger) race than this. Then went onto a rain affected track and didn’t really get going before stepping to 1800 for the first time in his life and giving nothing. Drops back in trip and worth following up once more. SUN POWER has the senior rider on and if the rail is hot can improve out of sight. THE ITALIAN JOB won well first-up in a weak maiden more than 4L slower than average but did it soft. GALAHS DO ROAR ran well fresh at Kalgoorlie. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – STAROF BONNIE ROSE WIN RACE 6 INFLATION resumes and has always had pretty good form around him as a 3 and 4 year old. First-up last preparation ran fourth in a 72+ behind Little Fish, Minus Looks and In Love With Paris before running second to Massimo in a 66+ second-up. This looks a lovely race for him. STRATOCREED has been flying since joining Colin Webster and this is the most suitable race he has seen so far. PASTRY ran well last weekend in the Country Championships Final. GLASGOW GIRL drops in grade but will need luck from the draw. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – INFLATION WIN RACE 7 FUHRER steps up to a mile and should be able to find the front in this race. There really only looks one other speed horse and that is Uncle Lino who is more known as an 1800-2200m type. If Pateman leads or breezes and controls the tempo he will be hard to beat. His three year old form is strong and Resortman could be a future top liner. KAKADU maps to get a lovely run forward of midfield and it is impossible to knock any of his form. FINGERMARK won well last start when the leaders over cooked it in front. TRUMP THIS was a huge market drifter last start and ran accordingly. Previous two efforts were super. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – FUHRER WIN RACE 8 AMELIA BEDELIA on paper should be put in take out in this kind of race. This is a very moderate C3 and taking on the older horses her form simply looks superior. Won well fresh last campaign off the back of a nice trial before beating some handy 3 year old types including Snippy Miss and Weaponson. Either leads or stalks Salcity and should win. ROBERTA an improver but not setting the track on fire just yet this campaign. KING’S AUTHORITY broke a long out last start and looks suited to a fast run 1000. ALCINA next best. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – AMELIA BEDELIA WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,7 1,2,3,4,5,11 1,3,4,9 2 Market Market
