Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on December 12, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FAIR FORCE ran sixth two starts ago in the hot Albany maiden behind Snititude. The horses in front of Fair Force were Censure, Too Fat Too Slow, Loki and Ice Trade. All four have won races since. That is a hot form line. MISS PINS made good late ground at Barker at her most recent after getting too far back. STARAUTHORESS has been the target of big money at two starts in WA and failed to fire a shot at either outing. AYASHA went very close last start. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – FAIR FORCE EACHWAY Race 2 SHAPE SHIFTER charged to the line on debut in a run which screamed back me next start. Going to do exactly that after she drew soft with a 1.5kg claim as well. Should position midfield and if she can reproduce the run she’ll be mighty hard to beat. DEMERITISE ran third on debut down the straight at Pinjarra and then trialed well in June before being thrown in the deep end. HAILSTRUM has shown glimpses of ability in a short career. MOMENTS OF MAGIC next best. Numbers: 11 – 6 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – SHAPE SHIFTER WIN Race 3 WAR CLASS was a strong winner at Albany two starts ago before heading to town to contest the Westspeed Final. Was never a winning chance after drawing 8 and sitting deep the trip. Can bounce straight back. TAMPERING FALLS lumps a big weight but if left alone toward the front can be in the finish. HIGHFRIAR continues to promise to win another race. RECAPITULATE is not impossible drawing gate 1. Keep safe at a price. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – WAR CLASS WIN Race 4 NORTON was winning his Bunbury trial from about 800m out. He was bolting in behind the leaders and travelled strongly. Makes his WA debut in a 1100 C2 at Albany drawn 1 with a cutaway in play. Looks like sitting leader’s back and winning. SAX ON QUE is no slouch and can make a real race of it. They do look the two on paper. ELLENS CHOICE could find the top and give some cheek. DYNAMITE BAY is going well enough to finish in the money. Numbers: 11 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – NORTON WIN Race 5 LORD KRONOS was slow away first-up and then cut back to the inside when all the winners on the day were winding up down the middle. The effort was full of merit and eye catching. Second-up he steps to his pet distance of 1400 and reunites with regular rider Jason Whiting. CANDLELIGHT STAR lumps a huge weight but the cutaway suits him. He is going well. NOTTA MOCHA returns to the Great Southern for the first time this preparation. First-up at Ascot was beaten 9L out of sight but was without a trial and may have needed the run. Second-up was far better when making late ground. RUN LIAM RUN next best. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – LORD KRONOS EACHWAY Race 6 PURE MAGNUS is far better suited at 1200 than he was first-up at 1000 when far from disgraced. He can settle midfield and with the claim and the cutaway looks poised to win. LUKE’S GOLD was good first-up at Barker when getting back and charging home late. Through the line was impressive. MAGIC OPUS went close first-up and was set a task in town. MYGIRLFRANKIE hit the line hard first-up. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – PURE MAGNUS WIN Race 7 LITTLE PUNGA is bursting to win a race. Lead and was attacked 1000 from home two starts ago and then raced well from off pace most recent. FOXY PRINCESS has really hit form and this race is only moderately tougher than her last two assignments. She should be in the finish again. COLD AS COLD needs to improve but has the ability to. OUR BUDDY BOY is suited in this grade and should have improved fitness wise. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – LITTLE PUNGA WIN Race 8 PROXY will open double figures after a last start flop on paper. That race was run 6L faster than average and he was responsible for that tempo. Son of Bacchus and Sophie’s Song have run placings in town since and he drops into a 58+ at Albany. Well worth a Friday Flutter at the price. WAR KSAR resumed well and will only improve as the distances stretch. CHASING CHAOS is honest and should race close handy. SONDHEIM can be the blow out. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 14 Suggested Bet – PROXY EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,7,8 2,4 2,5,6,7,10 1,3,4,14 Market Market
