Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on September 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PRIZED NEMESIS has had his fair share of chances for 2 different stables but his trial was impressive and his first-up run was sectionally career best. Likely again settles off them but if they can make ground he’ll make his presence felt. Stable in white hot form. DRAGONFLIES comes from the same race behind Nerodio and that has to be the superior form reference. Was brave sitting deep and here either leads or sits outside Grey Dancer. SECAIT was given every chance last start and didn’t have a lot in the tank when asked to accelerate. GREY DANCER should find the fence. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRIZED NEMESIS EACHWAY Race 2 DRINKWHATYOULIKE ran almost 5L above benchmark when waltzing in at Northam. Clocked in at 56.36 and while they can run unrealistic times in the Avon Valley the benchmarking doesn’t lie. It was a brilliant return to racing. MISS WEST COAST is a classy filly resuming. She looks like she will be better suited over further but strikes a fast run 1000m drawn soft. JOYRIZE ran into a smart one at trials and race form is strong. MIA DOLCE just keeps turning up but this is her hardest test. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – DRINKWHATYOULIKE WIN Race 3 BLACK DUCATI was stiff last time out. Held up at crucial stages behind a tiring leading pair and then saddle slipped sideways with only 150m to go. Turned out that the inside was the worst part of the track that day so the run was super and without a deal of speed in this race it would be no surprise to see Parnham find a spot forward of midfield. MURRAY THE BULLDOG improved last start and gets things all his own way in front. CHAMPAGNE GAL got within a nose of Master Pearl three starts ago and finished alongside Blue Horse two starts ago. MASTER PEARL is a winner off 7 and draws a gate. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – BLACK DUCATI WIN Race 4 REGAL COUNSEL is flying through the grades and at every outing is seemingly improving under the guidance of master Goldfield trainer Mr Peter Fernie. Last time out was in the best part of the track but his closing splits were exceptional. If he sticks a strong mile he will be very hard to hold out. ASTRONIMITE is bursting to win a race. Last months worth of efforts were all good enough to win. BEAUTY KANAS draws wide and may need to go back but is ready to salute. HARRY THOMAS should find the front comfortably but always finds one better than him. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – REGAL COUNSEL WIN Race 5 SOVEREIGN TRADE is worth inclusion at a big price. Four runs in this preparation have been in 64+ grade, he drops into an evenly graded 60+, drops back to 1400m which looks to be his best trip and finally draws a gate. NEXT STOP THE MOON is undefeated off 7 days and based on his sectionals the faster the better for him in front. EXPRESS FLIRT simply runs for Pike. 2 wins and 2 placings from 4 rides. LORENTINIO landed the money first-up and no reason why he can’t box seat and go close again. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – SOVEREIGN TRADE EACHWAY Race 6 BEAUCOUNT is hit or miss, there is no denying that, but from a form perspective he jumps off the page as a huge winning chance. His last three runs have all been 64+ and all been run more than a 1.5 lengths faster than average. He will march from the 1000 and test their staying ability. TOO CLOSE THE SUN was thrown in the deep end last weekend and came through with flying colours. He will have an abundance of supporters. DECEPTION GAME is capable off the 3 days if he starts. PINK AND PURPLE comes from Kal but looks like she can stay. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – BEAUCOUNT EACHWAY Race 7 CRYPTIC LOVE has been in form all preparation and dropping back to a high speed 1000m looks a suitable placement. She draws to sit one out and two back in the run and has the turn of foot to get over them. SOME SORT takes on the older horses but her three year old form around Celebrity Queen and Rio Del Mar is strong. DIA DE LA RAZA will be hoping to get across to the breeze. He is going well without winning. NIGHT VOYAGE lumps a big weight as usual but never runs a bad race. Numbers: 8 – 11 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – CRYPTIC LOVE WIN Race 8 SPILLINOVA looks destined to come out running and sit outside of goldfields speedster Senorita Bonita but from that position he will take beating. Brave last time out when attacked for the lead a long way from home and only just being nailed on the line. IN LOVE WITH PARIS was home everywhere but the post last start. Maps ideally again. CUP NIGHT had excuses first-up but still got clear with enough time to score. Concedes them a fair start. NELSON’S FLIGHT is the fly in the ointment speed map wise if Warwick wants to lead. He is going well. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – SPILLINOVA WIN Race 9 LITTLE FISH is versatile, can race on speed and can settle off the pace and come with a big finish. Outside Alpha Sky and Floyd there doesn’t look to be a deal of speed on paper so Kirby may roll the dice but regardless he is in good enough form to go back and give a sight. FORCEFUL trialed the house down and McNaught is riding as well as anyone. DUTCH SPY was brilliant first-up. If he reproduces that he’s in the mix. ALPHA SKY has been solid at trials. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – LITTLE FISH EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 3,4 8,11 3,4,6 1,2,3,5 Market Market
