Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 17, 2019September 17, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TUSCAN QUEEN is a $300 000 yearling purchase making her debut. She has looked good at trials and in the small field likely only concedes the leaders a couple of lengths head start. Nice race for her to burst onto the scene. FUHRER trialed well enough behind Showzali to suggest with the shades on he could run a race. AMELIA’S CONTRAIRE won well first-up and then never looked comfortable last start. CLASSY STRATUM trialed well and McNaught is on fire. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – TUSCAN QUEEN WIN Race 2 OCEAN’S FIFTEEN makes his debut as a 4 year old for the powerful Gangemi stable. His Lark Hill trial was the second slowest of the day but he did it in second gear. Should jump to the top or sit outside of Warbler and get every chance. CELIATORE finished off well first-up at Northam and on paper looks the stronger of the two Morton runners. WARBLER continues to trial well and not quite bring the same impressive efforts to the races. SULOHUR CRESTED will need further but is next best. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – OCEAN’S FIFTEEN WIN Race 3 EUROTRIP will have last crack at the speedsters. Dropping back to 1200m and drawn soft he looks like he’ll settle midfield with cover or just worse and has a powerful finish on him. Lost no admirers last start. NERODIO was winning a long way out first-up when backed from $6.50 into $2.45 on Tabtouch. Looks to have a stack of natural ability. STRASMORE is speedy and runs them along. BOBCAT JOHNNIE returned to the races brilliantly first-up but finds a few sharper ones here. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – EUROTRIP WIN Race 4 TONKATUFF is perfectly placed in this midweek 58+ style of race. The majority of his racing for the last three years has been in Saturday grade and he has finally got down in the ratings to his quality of race. Sits close handy from the gate and should be too powerful late. DECEPTION GAME has shades on first time and drops in grade. KING OF JUDAH ran a nice race last start and with Pike on expect a wave of early support. CHAPASCO is a big lumbering animal who needed Noske first-up. Looked gone at the 600. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – TONKATUFF WIN Race 5 SPEEDY MISS went well first-up when finishing off strongly behind Black Ducati. Last start never saw daylight and was held up from on straightening until around the 100m when the race was over. MISS MANDY is racing well but will need an ounce of luck early from a tricky alley. AVALON BAY trialed well and overall race form is nice enough. BOOTLEG RASCAL belted limited opposition in Kalgoorlie. Interesting to see if he can hold form. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – SPEEDY MISS WIN Race 6 PEARLS FROM HEAVEN looks like she has been screaming out for this sort of trip. First-up ran a good race over 1300m, second-up never really got going in a fast run 1400, then last start loomed over 1700. This is not a deep race and she should go close. COLLABORATE is dropping in grade from a sound effort last start. Was beaten over 6L but against far superior opposition to what he meets here. BOMBARDMENT looks like getting it all his own way in front. DEEP PURPLE can stay and ran an improved race last start. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – PEARLS FROM HEAVEN WIN Race 7 CLASSIC CHANT absolutely bolted in last start when going for home on the corner and moving out to the middle of the track. That race was over 5L above benchmark and she’ll jump and run. UNIBRO drops in grade after a good effort first-up. Hard to beat off that. PINK ‘N’ GRAY sat three deep the trip no cover first-up and went huge. MCEDITH has put together two very impressive WA runs. No reason why she can’t win again. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC CHANT EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,6 1,2,3,4 2,3 2,3,4,6,7,8 Market Market
