Scott Embry’s Sunday Port Hedland Preview Posted on July 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HEROIC WORDS has now had 4 starts at Port Hedland and finished in the money at all four. Last start couldn’t pick them up at Marble Bar but he is getting very close to finally breaking through. JEBEDIAH comes across from Broome and on the 7 day back-up will again go close. JUST DAVE wins one soon after a long run of 22 previous attempts. TOP SHOP has gone well since joining Catherine Godden. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – HEROIC WORDS WIN Race 2 SWIFT PLATINUM finally found the front last start which is how he used to race back in his Ross Price days. From there he ran them into the ground. The mile a is bit of a query but if he leads he’ll take catching. THE REAL ZEEL had his first start in the North West for team Pike and won stylishly. MICK’S TIPPIN is always in the mix. COSTA OESTE will be the strongest at the finish. Big, strong one paced type. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – SWIFT PLATINUM WIN Race 3 ANVIL GREEN is the King of Port Hedland winning at 9 of his 13 attempts. He is back in form and once he gets there he usually holds it. Can carry the weight and win. MISS HARLEY QUINN should find the front here and from there will take some catching with nothing on her back. COMPARATIVE got beaten out of sight at Roebourne but may find Port Hedland more suitable. BALROV is ultra consistent. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ANVIL GREEN WIN Race 4 DEDAY put the writing on the wall last start at Roebourne. Back to Port Hedland where he has won 6 from 19 and 1 from 1 over the 2050 he’ll be mighty hard to beat here in a thin Ladies Day Cup. QUITE REGAL will run the trip no worries and this is a much more suitable race than he has been in of recent times. DEADLY TOUCH is going well but the trip is the big query. SCENIC LORD was brave on speed last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – DEDAY WIN Race 5 CORRESPONDENT looks another wonderful chance on the program for Tom Pike and after the claim of Kate Southam looks weighted to win. Rarely far from the action and goes extremely well at the track. Should salute in this. GRECO had his first start outside the metro/provincial area and was not disgraced. Improves for the dirt experience. If he leads when they hit the grass he’ll be nearly home. JESTER FERRARI is improving with every run on the surface. LOOKING GREAT is better than what he produced first-up. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – CORRESPONDENT WIN Race 6 KING COOL bolted in first-up and then second-up was beaten less than a half length when getting uncharacteristically off the speed. He can bounce straight back to the winner’s enclosure here. HASHTAG LAD loves the 1200 at Port Hedland, finished in the top 3 at 11 of 15 attempts. Testing material. FORCE ELEMENT is a rising 9 year old but going well. CHICO BUBLES next best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – KING COOL WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1 1,3 1 1,2 Market Market
