Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 19, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PARADISE SQUARE was backed as if unbeatable last start when no match for Happy Harry. Gets a further 1.5kg weight swing, a rise in trip, a barrier draw and Chris Parnham on. HAPPY HARRY is arguably the most classy galloper on the Goldfields. He will again contest the Hannans and can run a race in that. Hard to beat even with a big weight. BARTRADER drops sharply in weight after a grade rise. GRAND CADEAU is in form. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PARADISE SQUARE WIN Race 2 NICKLAUS is certainly not a genuine commodity but rolling forward in a very weak race he should be hard to beat. You wouldn’t want to be investing Australian Dollars too heaviliy on him but it looks a good race for him. SCREAM IN BLUE continues to hit the line hard and draws soft. FOXY DREAMER has run improved races of recent times. EXPLOSION was backed heavily last start and really flew late. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 9 -1 Suggested Bet – NICKLAUS WIN Race 3 ROSEICAPILLA trialed well really (albeit in the rain) and then was thrown in the deep end in a race with far too much depth. Can get under the radar here and worth inclusion. EMERALD ROSE drops back into maiden company after a reasonable run against more talented opposition than this. Needs luck from the gate. EASINGTON trialed really well but failed to fire a shot first-up after playing up in the yard. HAMADA won a trial by a distance before this preparation and Crispin horses can find a yard in Kal. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – ROSEICAPILLA EACHWAY Race 4 TRUTH AND LIES has been a shade on the disappointing side this preparation. Clearly a far better horse at Esperance than at Kalgoorlie but drawn soft and blinkers on can bounce back. PEARL OF THE PLAIN won well fresh and then last start was just as good, if not better than Truth and Lies. Has to be hard to beat. FAIR JOY got the job done last start after being well supported. Gets a similar run in transit. SAMMY THE BOSS is classy on his day. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – TRUTH AND LIES EACHWAY Race 5 NEMIROFF found the front last start and was left alone and from there it was all over. This race doesn’t look to have a lot more pace and while the 1200m is probably a stretch he’ll be in front for a long way. HERRON SAND has her first start for the Jeeps Thomas stable and going back three starts ran fourth to Baron Bostock, Essential Spice and Gillespie. A repeat of that run puts her in the finish. PATIENCE PHILLIPS gets off them naturally and the step to 1200m is in her favour. ICE ONE is building. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – NEMIROFF WIN Race 6 GREY ENGIMA comes to Kalgoorlie for the first time in his 77 start career. Has raced prodominently in Saturday metro races for his entire career and he looks extremely well placed here. Third behind Mrs Brown’s Boy in a 64+, fourth to Leading Girl and True Attraction in a 64+. Drawn to sit midfield with C.Parnham aboard. He should be winning this. INDRIEL can pull her way to the front and lead for a fair way. NASHVILLE CAT is not firing at the minute but is better than that. INVISIBLE PRO is horribly out of form but now joins MR P.Fernie. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – GREY ENIGMA WIN Race 7 GANGBUSTER was beaten a nose by Monash two starts ago in a drive to the post, draws far better in this race and should sit right behind the speed. Can turn the tables on him. Last start was brave when trying to chase down surprise leader Don’t Speed. TURBO POWER either leads or box seats and peak form is better than the opposition. MONASH has been a model of consistency since joining Shannon Rough-An who is enjoying a breakout season. PALMA MERENTI will be doing his best work late. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – GANGBUSTER WIN Race 8 REGAL COUNSEL has his first start in the region for the Cambana Lodge team. His recent form in races which were deeper than this would see him going close. He is versatile and can sit close handy from the gate. Hard to beat. CARRANYA LASS reunites with Troy Turner. That riding engagement can’t be underestimated, and he makes a rare trip to Kal. DRIFTWOOD GIRL is hard to catch but her best is good enough. ALLURING won well last start and if the rail is hot then he’ll take catching. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – REGAL COUNSEL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,8,9 2 1,2,3,5,7,9 2,5 Market Market
