All The Rave flies the flag for Anniversary Cup Posted on September 18, 2018September 20, 2018 | Posted by David Shortte It will be a special victory for connections of All The Rave if he can taste success in the Northam Anniversary Cup on Monday. The speedy sprinter will head into Monday’s Northam Anniversary Cup final as the dog to beat after recording a best of day 29.62 when winning his heat by more than five lengths. Trained by Tony Scott, All The Rave has won all three of his starts at the Avon Valley circuit and his early speed was again the key to his victory running a slick first sectional of 5.74 before zooming away from the talented Techno. Tony Scott’s wife, Kathy has a happy history with the race having trained the first ever winner of the race Rip Van Rosco in 1997 and the second ever winner of the event in 1998, After Lunch. “This race holds a special place in my heart going right back to the first ever running of the event.” Kathy Scott said. “Tony and I were big supporters of the club in the formative years and to win the Northam Cup in the first two years was something that meant a lot to us.” After living in Victoria for many years Kathy and Tony returned to WA last year. “We returned home to be with family a bit over a year and a half ago now and we are gradually starting to build our team of dogs up again.” Kathy said. “All The Rave is our Pin-Up Boy in the kennels – he has won 12 of his 19 career starts and we love him to bits.” It may well be a big few days ahead for Tony and Kathy as well as Owner Leon Birch who are big West Coast Eagles supporters. “Tony and Leon are West Coast “Tragics” and All The Rave as a consequence has Eagles rugs and pyjamas which he wears to bed each night.” Scott said. “It would be a perfect weekend if West Coast could win the Preliminary Final on Saturday and then All The Rave could win the Cup on Monday.” Scott concluded. Tony Scott also has He’s Historic into the final after it ran third behind Winlock Banking in heat one. Gun trainer James Jeffries holds a strong hand in the feature final qualifying Winlock Banking and Techno who appear the main dangers to All The Rave in the Cup. Northam stalwart Peter Glenny will have plenty of local support for his heat winner Bushman’s Luck who excels at the Burwood Park venue. If you are yet to make plans for your Public Holiday Monday then why not lock in a day at Northam for their biggest race day of the season. Great racing, full Bar and Tote facilities and good old fashioned country hospitality will ensure a great day ahead for the whole family.
