Greg Hooper’s Ascot Saturday Preview Posted on May 5, 2017May 5, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 This looks close to a match race between VITAL DANCER and ART SERIES. They clashed in a trial on 10 April where little separated them and since then both have produced impressive wins. At the prices on offer really happy to back VITAL DANCER. Suspect he can spear over from the outside gate to lead or breeze and give this a big shake. LITTLE HERCULES clear third pick. TEACHER’S PET has first-four appeal. Numbers – 2 – 4 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – VITAL DANCER WIN SuperPick - Race 1 No. 2 VITAL DANCER - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 2 REVEILLE was touched off in midweek grade where she lumped 58kg. She’s not overly big filly so the drop down to 54kg is significant and the blinkers go on. The Wolfe pair of MINUS LOOKS and ONE SHORT both appear terrific chances. ROYAL MISSILE has raced flat this campaign but has claims again. Numbers – 7 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – REVEILLE WIN RACE 3 Good race with some nice three-year-olds clashing. SALORSCI impressed in his first campaign, leading all the way and running time on debut in maiden grade and then stepping up to Saturday grade and defying the pattern of the day which was favouring closers. He should be nice and fresh for this and if he finds the front he takes a stack of running down. SNOW LORD looks the best of the closers. DAINTY TESS was enormous against the older horses’ last start. TRADEMARK is probably better suited drawing off the rail but he put in an eye-catcher fresh and has claims. Numbers – 5 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SALORSCI WIN RACE 4 On paper this staying race looks devoid of natural tempo and for that reason going for the veteran stayer WOODSVILLE as suspect he can lead, dictate and give this is a big shake. Autier piloting is another positive. DARK MUSKET gets up to a suitable trip. PUSHIN’ SHAPES comes off an emphatic win in the Narrogin Cup and his prior form was first class. WAR KSAR next best. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WOODSVILLE WIN RACE 5 Hard to go past REMEMBER BERLIN in this sprint. He produced a career best performance last start when he missed the kick but was able to weave a passage in the straight and powered clear late. If jumps cleaner and can tag the speed he should be too good. AEROZINE is a hit and miss conveyance but if he leads and controls he capable of running his rivals ragged like he did on Good Friday. TENTERDEN continues to race well and looks a strong place chance. BELLS TOWER is a non-winner but looks a good first-four hope. Suggested – 1 – 5 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – REMEMBER BERLIN SAVE AEROZINE RACE 6 Very competitive race with multiple form lines clashing. TONKATUFF is bursting to win another race. If he finds some cover from a sticky draw he goes close. TYCOON TARGET looks the leader and gives big sight off his Pinjarra win. NOT AGAIN KEN produced a phenomenal last start win at Pinjarra and he was the subject to strong betting support. If he can repeat he probably wins again. GREY ENIGMA will need some luck from the draw but he looks ready. Numbers – 6 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – TONKATUFF AND TYCOON TARGET RACE 7 TOUCH OF SILVER is a horse on the rise and he should prove too strong for these. He raced a little flat last start but still was too strong. The extra week between runs is a plus and expecting him to improve off the run and win. VERDELLO BLUE can lead and give this a big sight. SENSO backs up after another good run last week. PUSH TO PASS will find the line strongly. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TOUCH OF SILVER WIN RACE 8 STATE SOLICITOR could be the best sprinter in the state. His performance in last year’s Winterbottom off a limited preparation was quite incredible. He should park just behind the speed and give these a belting. JUST ACT NATURAL leads and looks a strong place chance. PROFIT STREET motored home from the rear in a fast run race first-up. MY GREEK BOY next best. Numbers – 2 – 3 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – STATE SOLICITOR WIN Bet Now
