Chris’ Gold Coast Best Bets Posted on May 5, 2017May 5, 2017 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 1 No. 2 Prompt Return Locally trained galloper from the Toby Edmonds yard with a strong fresh record resuming tomorrow. Jeff Lloyd nearly had his arms pulled out of their sockets trying to hold this one back in a fast run trial here recently where he also wore the heavy work shoes (horse not jockey…). Drawn to trail a hot speed tomorrow he looks perfectly placed to be the strongest at the finish. RACE 3 No. 2 Taking Aim Team Snowden youngster resuming tomorrow in a race which appears to contain plenty of speed. Not seen since beaten 5 lengths in the Group 1 Blue Diamond at Caulfield in the Summer/Autumn where he didn’t have the best of luck he’s been fitted up nicely with a couple of tidy trials in preparation for his return tomorrow. Look for him to be steaming home over the leaders late. SuperPick - RACE 3 No. 2 Taking Aim - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 4 No. 3 Dawn Wall Chris Waller trained filly who has been given a let up since finishing unplaced in the Group 1 Vinery at Rosehill late March on a Heavy track. She missed the Randwick part of the carnival to concentrate on the Oaks up here with tomorrow her kick off. Nice and fresh, back in trip & sharpened up with a couple of barrier trials she’ll run well.
