RACE 2 NO. 3 PAY UP BRO

PAY UP BRO has been racing well in recent weeks and looks a great winning chance when he contests the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1600m). The four year old comes off a solid last start second behind TOP ME UP over 1400 metres at Bendigo on April 1. He will appreciate stepping up in distance, looks drawn for a good run and any rain leading into the race only enhances his prospects. He also gets the benefit of in-form apprentice Jordan Childs’ 1.5kg claim and PAY UP BRO appeals as one of the better bets of the day.

RACE 3 NO. 1 BURNING FRONT

BURNING FRONT will start one of the shortest priced favourites of the day and should justify that quote with a win in the Super VOBIS Gold Mile (1600m).  The Darren Weir trained gelding has won 16 races and will top the $1 million in prizemoney with a win in this race. He will race near the lead which is always an advantage and has a massive class edge on his rivals, especially under the set weights conditions of this race. The son of Primus is an ultra-consistent performer that should return to the winners list here.

RACE 9 NO. 7 KAZIO

The Super VOBIS Gold Reef (1600m) looks a highly competitive race for some up-and-coming three year olds and none more so than KAZIO, who is lightly raced and improving with every run. After a debut win over 1200 metres at Sale, the son of Foreplay ran on strongly to finish 3rd over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley on March 13. At his last run, KAZIO powered home to finish 3rd behind MILWAUKEE in the Bendigo Guineas (1400m) on April 1. That is proving a dynamic form reference with SWORD OF LIGHT, WATERLOO SUNSET and PLENTY TO LIKE winning city races in the past fortnight. KAZIO can add to that list by winning this race and looks a good gamble at attractive odds.
