Wayne’s Preview – Scorchers v Sixers Posted on December 30, 2017June 7, 2018 | Posted by Wayne Clark Monday 1 January, 2018 Who said at the beginning of this tournament the Scorchers list is depleted and they will struggle early? Well, I did … I have to eat my words now though – 3 from 3 and worthy favourites to win yet another Big Bash. Next they play the Sixers (0 from 3) at the Furnace and it will be very difficult to make a case for a Sixers win. The Scorchers bowling has been sensational with Johnson & Tye being the standouts. Johnson creating chances in the early overs and Tye the ultimate finisher. All who have bowled have played their roles superbly so far. The Sixers will need something outstanding from either Roy, Henriques, Silk or Maddinson to put some pressure on the Scorchers attach and achieve a winning score. If there is any concern from a Scorchers point of view, it is the inconsistency of the batting. The bowlers can only protect a score under 150 for so long. Captain Adam Voges will therefore be looking for a more positive start from his top-order. Now Klinger is back it adds some stability; Cartwright has shown his potential and the experience of Voges himself, has proven so important. If the batsmen can get it right, how good can this side be? Hard to see the Scorchers losing this one at home. Suggested Bets: Winner: Perth Scorchers Scorchers Most Wickets: AJ Tye Scorchers Most Runs: Michael Klinger Sixers Most Wickets: Sean Abbott Sixers Most Runs: Moises Henriques
