Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on February 25, 2025February 25, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 BELLE DETELLE should appreciate the spacious Hillside circuit and if she can begin cleanly looks hard to beat. SWELTERING will prove hard to get past, she went too hard last start and understandably blinkers come off. GLOBAL ECLIPSE worked through the line strongly in a recent jumpout and wears blinkers and a tongue tie for his debut. KISS MY ROCK hit the line well at his first run for the new stable. Selections: 8,9,4,5 Suggested Bet: Belle Detelle to win Race 2 RAILWAY MAN broke through in good style in Sydney and the form through that race has held up well. ZORRO’S FLIGHT is racing in great form, he’s been freshened and will make his own luck. RAPID CHEVAL resumes from an Oaks campaign and has jumped out nicely to kick off at a suitable trip. BANCORY BAY and PULA have some claims. Selections: 2,1,4,3 Suggested Bet: Railway Man each way Race 3 EL TERCERO found the 1000m too short on debut but closed off in eye catching fashion and should be suited stepping up to this trip. BOSSY BENITA will strip fitter third up, she comes through a strong maiden and should secure a good run form the inside draw. ACCORDANCE has jumped out well for her debut. THE MUFFIN MAN has also jumped out in good style and get blinkers off first up. Selections: 4,12,10,9 Suggested Bet: El Tercero each way Race 4 KALKALLO hit the line nicely first up and should be suited by what appears to be a decent tempo. SUMMER FLAME beat Kalkallo home on that occasion, she may not have to lead here but will settle forward and give a sight. IL CUBO and SECOND FIX will strip fitter for chasing and in-from BOULDER JACK las start and all have a case. QUEBECK is fit, racing well and may appreciate a slight drop in distance. Selections: 5,9,4,8 Suggested Bet: Kalkallo each way Race 5 NOTHINGELSEMATTERS should appreciate the rise to 1800m third up on a spacious track. BLUSHING TYCOON was beaten by a promising one last start and appears well placed dropping in grade with a claim. MYERS REWARD has the wide draw but has the versatility to roll forward and has had excuses of late. ECLIPSION is racing well for the new stable, he’ll make his own luck and drops in grade with a claim. MUPPET is yet to win beyond 1700m but is racing in career best form and gets in below the minimum weight after Jaylah Kennedy’s claim Selections: 7,2,5,3 Suggested Bet: Nothingelsematters each way Race 6 COTTON TREE improved nicely third up gives the impression 2400m will suit. BLACK PEPPERMINT is racing through the grades in good style and looks capable of measuring up to this stronger company. GENRICHERO is another fit, in-form galloper with claims. CABLE DANCER and GEMINI DANCER are other that have a case. Selections: 8,5,7,6 Suggested Bet: Cotton Tree each way Race 7 MISS WINSLET had no luck two starts back and has been given a good grounding to step up to 1400m. SHAIME covered ground in Sydney last time and should secure a much more economical run from the inside draw. MATAWAI won well first up, her second up record is some query, but she likes this trip and maps for a good run. PARADISE CITY controlled he race to win last time and seem well weighted after the claim. MAHSAY had the right run to score last start and will be strong late. Selections: 10,1,5,6 Suggested Bet: Miss Winslet each way Race 8 THE SHAPER has only had one jumpout leading into this, but he races well here and should’ve retained residual fitness from his last prep. EUGENIUS drops in grade and can make his own luck. RUSSIAN METEOR was back in from last start and will be strong late. CARBONADOS covered ground last start and should appreciate 100m third up. HUGHES did enough first up for the new stable and will strip fitter. CARNIVAL ROW has been trialling well. Selections: 7,6,2,4 Suggested Bet: The Shaper each way Market Market
