Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on July 30, 2024July 30, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn. WINCHESTER resumes gelded and has trialled well on heavy ground. TURBINADO had jumped out nicely prior to her first up run and might be better suited coming back to 1000m. THAMES has been jumping out in good style to debut. MISS TORONADO had trialled well on wet ground prior to her debut victory on the synthetic track. EXTREME DIAMOND, NOSTRINGSATTACHED and CHERISH THE DAY have trialled/jumped out well enough to respect. Selections: 7,10,18,8 Suggested Bet: Small bet Winchester each way Race 2 OCEANS ABOVE hit the line strongly on heavy ground second up and seems well placed. MAGARTEN will also strip fitter third up and gets a senior rider. ACTAEON did enough first up and usually improves second up. REGAL ZEUS had no luck last start in a stronger race. MAYAN comes through the same race as Oceans Above and is in career best form. Selections: 4,2,5,3 Suggested Bet: Oceans Above each way Race 3 ELBA has been kept fresh since her last start win and gets blinkers back on. ROYAL INVADER will strip fitter for two recent solid runs in NSW on heavy ground. WRITTEN IN CODE worked home well in a similar race last time and looks suited by the step up to 1300m. LIBICA, WALK OF FAME and GLITZING have claims. Selections: 6,9,4,8 Suggested Bet: Elba each way Race 4 BEAST MODE was dominant here two starts back after a luckless first up run and may not have handled the straight course last start. RATTLE AND BANG was below his best last start but his previous form was good for this. MISS ICELANDIC improved nicely second up and will strip even fitter. ORLABENT is flying for the new stable and is a heavy track winner. Selections: 1,4,6,3 Suggested Bet: Beast Mode each way Race 5 QUITE THE LASS has been good at her two runs back and should appreciate the step up to 1600m. PITCHANUN was back to something like her best form in a stronger race last time and races well here. ROADIE is fit, racing well and seems to handle all track conditions. DUNALLEY, PRECIOUS CHARM and LIEVORE are among the other winning chances in an open race. Selections: 3,6,7,1 Suggested Bet: Quite The Lass each way Race 6 SHINY NEW DEEL had no luck in a key lead up race first up and was successful at his only second up run to date. BOLTSAVER has been a revelation this prep, he loves it wet and gives the impression 1400m will be ok. HANAU ran well after being slowly away in a similar race last time. LIBERAMI won the Shiny New Deel lead up race and had to overcome some difficulties to do so. Selections: 7,4,2,3 Suggested Bet: Shiny New Deal each way Race 7 Competitive race. NODACHI dead-heated over this trip on the Lakeside circuit last start and gets a claim. SOCIALLY SASSY has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs and ran well against the pattern two start back. BATRANA bounced back on the synthetic track last start but was plain in the same race as Socially Sassy at her previous start. WAIMARE is racing well, she gets blinkers on and drops in grade on her latest run. Selections: 3,11,1,4 Suggested Bet: Nodachi each way Race 8 Tough finish. MOTORACE has been building nicely for the new stable and looks suited stepping up to 2400m. MARTIAL EAGLE can be a tricky ride but B.Shinn appears to be working him out and he handles wet ground well. JABBAWOCKEEZ loves it wet and has been given a solid grounding to be tested at 2400m. GOLDEN CRUSADER is capable of giving a sight riding the speed. ELSIE MAY is fit and racing well. PERLE BLEUE is a likely improver back out to this trip. Selections: 10,5,1,7 Suggested Bet: Motorace each way Market Market
