Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on March 19, 2024March 19, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 THE SHAPER made Quickster work for the win here last time first up over 1300m and looks well placed to break through. NEARING LIBERTY was competitive in some strong races in his first prep and has trialled well to resume. ARALETTA will be better for an encouraging debut and maps for a soft run. BRANDNU DEAL comes through the same race as The Shaper and should appreciate the extra 100m. SPELLMASTER has been jumping out in good style. Selections: 5,3,6,2 Suggested Bet: The Shaper to win Race 2 Deep race. EZIEZA may need some luck from the inside draw but ran well in a strong race first up and will strip fitter. MOUNT OLYMPUS has trialled impressively since his dominant first up victory. ATLANTIC SPIRIT won an easier race first up without a trial or jumpout and wasn’t disgraced in strong company last prep. NICCOLITE has trialled well for the new stable but her best form is on wet ground. LAKOTA FIRE will be close to his top third up and drops significantly in grade. SCORSESE and MASSIRA are in the mix. Selections: 10,3,5,2 Suggested Bet: Ezeiza to win Race 3 STERN IDOL won this race last year and has been trialling well on the flat and over obstacles. BORDER LEICESTER is racing well in similar races and gets a claim. Stablemates FARAG and WILEWINK come through the same race, with Wilewink getting a weight advantage. FLAMBEUR chased well behind Border Leicester last time. Selections: 2,1,5,6 Suggested Bet: Stern Idol to win Race 4 SAMUEL LANGHORNE didn’t have the best of luck running second in a similar race here last time and gets blinkers back on. MIDNIGHT GLOW continues to race well and should appreciate getting back up in trip. THINK I’M FAMOUS hit the line strongly in the same race as Samule Langhorne last start. NEVER AGAIN and AUSPIRIT also come through that race and have claims. Selections: 5,3,12,8 Suggested Bet: Samuel Langhorne to win Race 5 RHAPSODY CHIC was well supported when beaten by a promising galloper last start and should be close to peak fitness. ERSA has a touch of class and been jumping out well to kick off at a suitable trip. DUAL PRESSURE won an easier race in good style first up and the Fistoffury form reads well from his last campaign. ALLAPERCANTO showed promise in her first campaign in NSW and has trialled well to resume. LADY IN PINK and BON MISTESS have both been jumping out nicely to resume and have a case. Selections: 6,7,4,9 Suggested Bet: Rhapsody Chic to win Race 6 MATRIARCH ROSE should appreciate stepping up to 1400m on a spacious track following her good return to Moonee Valley. MISS PASSION is racing in great form and seems suited around this distance. OUR EMPRESS ZOE has been given three recent jump outs and her most recent indicates she’s ready to go first up. TASS will strip fitter for an encouraging first up run and can make her own luck. DONEGAL drops in grade and gets winkers on following her only defeat to date last time. Selections: 7,6,2,9 Suggested Bet: Matriarch Rose each way Race 7 Good race with a few promising gallopers. MODOWN has plenty of upside, he just missed at Pakenham and should appreciate 1400m. CLAVADATSCH improved significantly with blinkers applied second up and maps for a good run on speed. ETARA has been kept fresh since her impressive maiden victory first up and looks progressive. ROGUERY has been jumping out well and kicks off at a suitable trip. CHAKADO, SOME PEOPLE CALLME, WALKINASTRAIGHTLINE and GRID GIRL have bright futures and are in the mix. Selections: 4,8,14,3 Suggested Bet: Modown each way Race 8 Tough finish. REGAL VOW didn’t have much luck last start in a strong race. MASTER MONTARO is in terrific form and looks suited stepping up to 1400m. PAPERBOY has been freshened and drops in grade. MARBLE ARCH has raced herself back into form and gets the benefit of a claim. HAZEL BABY has returned in great form and maps for another good run. LETHAL THOUGHTS got the right run to score first up but will strip fiter and draws to advantage again. Selections: 12,8,11,7 Suggested Bet: Regal Vow each way Market Market
