Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on February 27, 2024February 27, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 VAIL MOUNTAIN has performed well in two Future Stars maidens, he maps well and looks suited stepping back up to 1400m. JAMMIN JIMMY also looks suited stepping up to 1400m. He was well fancied on debut and stuck on well after covering ground. UMETINI has been jumping out well. ARC DE PUISSANCE comes through what may be maidens of less depth but has been working home well and may settle closer from a favourable draw. Selections: 6,4,9,1 Suggested Bet: Qu/Ex: 6 & 4 Race 2 GREY ICE was held up at a crucial stage first up in a Future Stars maiden and should appreciate 1400m. BOTH SIDES NOW has displayed good talent and the jumpouts and looks suited on debut at this trip. SANZENO will strip fitter for an encouraging return and swaps winkers for blinkers. ROYAL INFANTY has been jumping out well to kick off his second prep. Selections: 9,8,6,4 Suggested Bet: Grey Ice each way Race 3 ET TU BRUTE can be slowly away but stuck on well back in the field behind two Group 1 winners last start and is the one to beat. INTO YOU is still a but green but has obvious talent and is open to further improvement third up. BORDER VISAGE maps for a good run and gets the benefit of a claim. WARLORDS won well leading first up and can make his own luck again. Selections: 2,8,4,1 Suggested Bet: Et Tu Brute to win Race 4 SPERANZOSO is racing in great form, can make his own luck and has been kept up to the mark with a solid jumpout over 1600m between runs. ROARING ENGINE protested unsuccessfully last time, he’s in good form and is drawn for a great run. HAALAND still has a bit to learn with his racing manners but has above average ability and looks suited stepping up to this trip now. ADONIS KICK is fit and racing well. Selections: 3,9,6,4 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples with 3,6 & 9 Race 5 Competitive race. BAVICIA resumed as a gelding with an eye-catching run and will appreciate the extra distance. FUNNYIFITWON jumps from 1400-1800m but is a previous second up winner and chased well behind an in-form galloper first up. MARION STREET will strip fitter third up, she should get a soft run from the inside draw and may have been looking for further than 1400m last start. THE BIG KAHUNA defeated Bavicia first up off a lengthy break, so has to have a case. Selections: 6,2,11,5 Suggested Bet: Bavicia each way Race 6 FIELD THE MOMENT ran out of room in a key lead up race last time and will appreciate the rise to 1400m. LULU DARLING is racing in great form and will make her own luck. MISS PASSION has a wide draw to contend with after having the right run to score last start but has a degree of tactical versatility. SHAIME is on trial at the trip but has been given a solid grounding and doesn’t run poorly. VIENNA VIXEN, FIASCO TESS and DANE ON TOUR have claims. Selections: 11,1,7,10 Suggested Bet: Field the Moment each way Race 7 GRONKOWSKI has returned in great form and seems to be relishing being kept to shorter trips. LABHUKU is building a handy record, he has the tactical speed to potentially offset the wide draw and has jumped out well to kick off at a suitable distance. HAZEL BABY had the right run to win last start, Shaime and Field the Moment provide a guide on that form in the previous race. GREAT GUST, KOMACHI and ASAWIN are in the mix. Selections: 3,13,8,4 Suggested Bet: Gronkowski each way Race 8 EYE OF THE EAGLE had jumped out well leading into his encouraging first up run and should appreciate the rise in distance. CORONATION KEITH covered ground first up , he maps for a better runs and has jumped out in great style between runs. KEITEL also covered ground last start but still battled on bravely at his only defeat to date, he gets a low draw and D.Lane on. HOOAH HAVANA gives the impression he will be suited at 1400m and gets a claim. LEGEND OF DUBAI has a decent first up record and has jumped out well. Selections: 14,3,10,11 Suggested Bet: Eye of the Eagle each way Market Market
