Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Ballarat Preview Posted on November 14, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 GLOWLIGHT had some excuses as a short-priced favourite last start and deserves another chance. NATION STATE has jumped out well to resume after an encouraging debut run. DREAMZEL was strong through the line in a recent trial. SCARLETT THUNDER will maker her own luck. Selections: 3,2,5,7 Suggested Bet: Glowlight to win Race 2 GRINZINGER LOVE has been jumping out well and look set to make her presence felt on debut. The same could be said about POWER OF THREE, who has been trialling/jumping out in good style. INVINCIBLE BEAU still has a bit to learn but has talent and drops in grade. ALBERTVILLE and STORMBOURG have looked ok at the jumpouts. Selections: 5,7,3,1 Suggested Bet: Grinzinger Love each way Race 3 Even race. PERFUME RIVER will strip fitter for her encouraging first up run and looks one of the hardest to beat. SOMEBODYTOLOVE has moved well at the jumpouts without being really tested. LADY NEGRONI and JIGGLE both ran well enough on debut to have claims here. EL QUINTO responded quite well to some pressure in a recent jumpout. ONNAMUSHA has jumped out well for her second campaign. Selections: 8,9,4,3 Suggested Bet: Perfume River each way Race 4 SPIRITUAL THINKER worked home well being a progressive horse first up and looks well placed to break through stepping up to 1600m. SON OF GRACE can make his own luck and give a sight. DELURE may improve with blinkers coming off. BACKLIT BEAUTY has jumped out ok and kicks off at a suitable trip. Selections: 9,2,4,6 Suggested Bet: Spiritual Thinker to win Race 5 MONARCHS BRAE had no first up and looks suited stepping up to 1600m. CAPE DOCTOR has impressed winning his two starts, he’s still somewhat of a raw talent but has plenty of upside. BIG STORY and UNTEHERED will both strip fitter second up and are suited by the rise in distance. SALASSI can push forward from the draw and has some claims. Selections: 5,1,2,4 Suggested Bet: Monarchs Brae each way Race 6 PERLE BLEUE showed good fight to win last time following a luckless run in the race where ZAYNUDIN ran third. That looks the strongest form. OMEO shapes as a genuine stayer and gets blinkers on. DUNWOODY is very one-paced and may be able to be ridder more positively second up. Selections: 2,3,5,1 Suggested Bet: 2,3,& 5 for the quaddie leg Race 7 LOVAZOU was forced to do some work in a strong race last start and will strip fitter third up. FULLPROOF appeals as a lightly raced horse with upside and has been jumping out well to kick off his second preparation. FREAKOFNATURE had no favours but still ran well first up and gets blinkers back on. MANCHEGO impressed on debut and gets a tongue tie following his second start, where he performed below market expectations. Selections: 12,2,1,8 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 12 & 2 Race 8 Tough finish. ROYAL INVADER ran well from a wide draw first up and maps for a better run. RICH LOVER covered ground and ran well under the circumstances las time. XCESSIVE GAMBLE looked good winning his latest start and his previous run ties in with Royal Invader. HOTZEL gets a tongue tie, she was well backed and had excuses first up. BELMASAI has had no luck at his last two runs. CELESTIAL HARBOUR and CHESTER WARRIOR have been jumping out well to resume. Selections: 10,8,3,9 Suggested Bet: Royal Invader each way Market Market
