Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on August 11, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 PRIDE OF SULLIVAN had jumped out impressively before her debut win and appears to be going at least equally as well leading into her second campaign. EPIC PROPORTIONS chased well on a leaders track last time and gets a tongue tie on. TITLE FIGHTER may have been advantaged by the bias on debut but was able to capitalise and had trialled well leading into that victory. LAKOTA FIRE rode the speed and won well in Adelaide last time. Selections: 8,1,3,2 Suggested Bet: Pride of Sullivan to win Race 2 TWIN PERFECTION appears to have appreciated being kept to 1000m and looks hard to beat again. NEVERSTANDINGSTILL will make her own luck from the inside draw and also seems to relish the 1000m trip. HISSY FIT will strip fitter, she has an awkward draw but may have the tactical speed to overcome it. CHARMED RUN will settle off what should be a solid tempo and be strong late. Selections: 4,3,10,8 Suggested Bet: Twin Perfection to win Race 3 LIEVORE may have had the bias in her favour last start but she showed good fight and will strip even fitter. LADY COURT comes through the same race and was forced to cover some extra ground against the pattern. PITCHANUN is fit, consistent and races well here. CHANDON BURJ may be looking for further but will be hitting the line strongly. Selections: 7,9,6,2 Suggested Bet: Lievore each way Race 4 OKAY CUPID coped well with the rise in grade last start and will make his own luck again. ASPEN COLORADO will most likely settle back in the field but races well here and is suited stepping up to 1600m. OCEANA BLUE should be ready to improve but needs relatively firm ground to show her best. MASTER OF CHANT won his first Australian start in good style and should be improved by that outing. Selections: 11,3,13,6 Suggested Bet: Okay Cupid each way Race 5 BELLE ET RICHE doesn’t run poorly and has jumped out well to resume. If she can hold some sort of spot from an inside draw she should take plenty of holding out late. MAXIMILLIUS has jumped out nicely to resume and his first preparation as a gelding last time in work was encouraging. RECOMMNDATION has an awkward draw to overcome but has a touch of class and is another to have jumped out well to resume. SHOW SOME DECORUM will strip fitter and has performed well at both his runs here. SHALAMAN had the pattern in his favour last start but will give sight. Selections: 4,6,1,8 Suggested Bet: Belle Et Riche each way Race 6 Competitive race. SUPERSTOCK had the pattern against him last start and under the circumstances his run was full of merit. WASCALY has had a gap between runs but gives the impression this trip will suit. SHULTZY has retuned in great form and is proven out to this distance range. LA SPEZIA races well here and should appreciate stepping up to 2040m. Selections: 11,2,1,13 Suggested Bet: Superstock each way Race 7 MILFORD looked unlucky last start when unable to get clear when he needed to. FLASH FLOOD won that race courtesy of a great tactical ride and has to be a strong chance again. FLOATING ARTIST did enough first up in a race that ties in with Milford. SISSOKO is an intriguing runner, his UK form from almost two years ago looks promising. He apparently didn’t settle well in Honk Kong from the UK but his trials and jumpouts since arriving in Australia have been encouraging. Selections: 2,1,5,6 Suggested Bet: Milford to win Race 8 MATHEW is building a handy record. He gives the impression 2500m will be ok and sprinted impressively to win an easier race last start. BOTANY coped well with 2400m last time, she rises in grade but gets down in the wights after the claim. PEARL RAIN raced wide last start and shouldn’t lack anything in fitness with a hurdle school in between runs. WUDDZ is racing well and would be advantaged by any rain. BAINBRIDGE did plenty of work in the run at his latest run. Selections: 5,11,14,4 Suggested Bet: Mathew each way Race 9 OMNI MAN comes down from Sydney fit and in form. He’ll make his own luck and dropping back to 1000m should be no issue. INUNDATION is a fast, talented horse. He has well documented breathing issues but is suited at the short course and has jumped out in typically good style. ACROMANTULA brings some outstanding WA form through Amelia’s Jewel and Red Can Man. He boasts a strong first up record and has trialled well. STARRY LEGEND and SWEET RIDE have some claims. Selections: 4,8,1,6 Suggested Bet: Omni Man to win Race 10 PEREILLE stormed home against the pattern last start and coped well with 1200m on that occasion. Shalaman will provide a guide on that form line earlier in the day. HELIX has upside and has jumped out well to resume. LUNA CAT hit the line strongly first up, she will appreciate 1200m and races well here. CUTE AS flew under the radar first up but looks to have plenty of upside. Selections: 11,10,13,9 Suggested Bet: Pereille to win Market Market
