Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on December 22, 2023December 22, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 GITALONG displayed good fight to win last start and appears suited at 1000m. DARK HALO impressed on debut and has been jumping out well to resume. OUR CRACKLIN’ ROSIE will make her own luck and has developed an affinity with Moonee Valley. All the other have some claims. Selections: 1,3,2,4 Suggested Bet: Small bet Gitalong to win Race 2 RHETORICAL will strip fitter for a luckless first up run and is drawn to have clear air. KEANE ENUFF is another that didn’t have the best of luck last start and will also strip fitter. HYDRO STAR isn’t a regular winner but he doesn’t run poorly and his three wins have come at this trip. YOUNG LIAM will be part of the speed and races well here. Selections: 13,5,4,3 Suggested Bet: Rhetorical each way Race 3 REGAL ZEUS won well last start and shapes as through 1600m will suit. CRADLE OF LIFE worked through the line strongly first up and also looks suited stepping up to 1600m. SO SHE CAN FLY races best on firm ground and has been jumping out well to resume. RAETIHI is building a handy profile, he won well here last time and will make his own luck. Selections: 9,14,6,8 Suggested Bet: Regal Zeus each way Race 4 CALL THE UNION will strip fitter for a luckless run in this distance range, following a strong win over 1600m. STAUNCH chased well here last time and should also be fitter for that run. STATE SQUAD and NORTHERN BARRAGE will both appreciate stepping up in distance second up. Selections: 10,5,4,1 Suggested Bet: Call the Union each way Same Race Multi: Call the Union (Top 2) + Staunch (Top 4) Race 5 TWIN PERFECTION has had excuses at his two latest runs and will appreciate the drop in grade from his last start. PHILOSOPHER has returned in great form, he’ll be part of what should be a solid tempo and looks capable of taking another rise in grade. MOON AND BACK will appreciate a strong tempo and hit the line strongly to win well here last start. IT’S KIND OF MAGIC is fit and flying. PORT ALBERT and WOLFLANDS are in the mix. Selections: 1,6,10,8 Suggested Bet: Twin Perfection each way Race 6 YELLOW SAM resumes without a trial or jumpout that I could find but she’s effective first up and was competitive in some strong form races last campaign. SOUTH OF HOUSTON appreciated the drop in grade to win last start and that form has held up well through Running By and Capre Omnia. PRAIRIE FLOWER is fit and consistent. HOLLY LOLLY wasn’t far behind Prairie Flower last start and is a winner here. Selections: 8,6,7,9 Suggested Bet: Yellow Sam each way Race 7 RIVERINA CYCLONE did plenty of early work last start, she races well here and should strip fitter. MATRON BULLWINKEL maps for a good run and seems well placed dropping gin grade with a claim. WHAKAMANA will appreciate the rise in trip and strip fitter second up. KETTLE HILL doesn’t win but keeps doing enough to include. SAMEDI and STARSPANGLED BABY have claims. Selections: 9,1,10,2 Suggested Bet: Riverina Cyclone each way Race 8 FIRE GLO TOO is hard to fault and should be right at his top for a recent run in the distance range. GLENTANEOUS appeared to appreciate 2400m last start and his lead up for was in strong races. KAILASH is racing well here and gives the impression 2500m will be ok. ZEGALO brings some different form lines and has been given a good grounding to step up to this trip. Selections: 5,1,9,6 Suggested Bet: Fire Glo Too each way Race 9 TURBEAU had trialled well before his good first up run in Adelaide and will strip fitter. FEARLESS WRITER looked good winning at this trip here last start and 1600m seems to suit. HARD TO CROSS has trialled well and kicks off at a suitable distance. FIRST MATE, FLASH FEELING and AWASH have claims. Selections: 1,10,9,4 Suggested Bet: Turbeau each way Race 10 SANDY PRINCE will strip fitter third up and has the early offset the wide draw if so desired. VELOCE CARRO has been kept fresh since winning well here last start and has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. PRIVATE JUMBO was well backed running third here first up and generally fires second up. ZOU SENSATION will appreciate 1200m second up after finding 1000m too sharp first up. Selections: 1,6,8,9 Suggested Bet: Sandy Prince each way Market Market
