Warren Huntly’s Saturday Geelong Preview Posted on January 2, 2025January 2, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ACTAEON got a bit keen last time and may settle better with blinkers off and winkers on. GOLDENSTATEWARRIOR should be suited by the rise in trip and has jumped out well between runs. HEIR TO THE THRONE rises in grade but hit the line strongly second up and will strip fitter. SUN GIFT, CHIMED and BORN WITH WINGS have claims. Selections: 1,2,9,12 Suggested Bet: Actaeon each way Race 2 BLAZING REBEL has been racing well for the new stable and draws for a good run. MAISY will strip fitter for a solid return and will appreciate 1700m. TURN IT UP TOMMY races well here and might be ready to fire third up. SAMURAI was well ridden to score last start and has a case in an even race. Selections: 1,9,7,2 Suggested Bet: Blazing Rebel each way Race 3 WILMOTT has jumped out well between runs, he’ll make his own luck and his form prior to his last start reads well for this. HOLA AMIGOS has jumped out well to kick off at a suitable trip and will be strong late. GALLANT PRINCE will be part of the speed and may settle better with blinkers off. BELTHIL may need some luck from the draw but the likely solid tempo could help the field spread. CALL HIM IGGY and CAPRICORN STAR have a case. Selections: 3,5,12,2 Suggested Bet: Wilmott each way Same Race Multi: Wilmott (Top 2) + Hola Amigos (Top 4) Race 4 Plenty to learn. CHERISH ME moved particularly well winning a recent jumpout and looks set to make her presence felt on debut. COSMIC SHOWER, YOLO and CAVALRY GIRL are others that have looked good at the jumpouts but most debutants have shown something and NIGHT FLAS brings some solid form from his debut. Selections: 9,10,6,8 Suggested Bet: Cherish Me each way Race 5 DON’T HOPE DO dominated from the front at Ballarat second up and may come across and sit outside PHILOSOPHER. TITLE FIGHTER will strip fitter for a strong first up win and Redoute’s Night enhanced that form at Flemington on New Years Day. LUNA CAT gets winkers on second up and will be strong late. LAFARGUE races well here and has jumped out in good style to resume. BELLINGER is racing well and has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. Selections: 10,8,4,3 Suggested Bet: Don’t Hope Do to win Race 6 UMGAWA should be at peak fitness and ran well in a strong race at Pakenham. ROBRICK comes through the strongest form lines and it appears this is about his best trip. SASSY BOOM takes on the boys in stronger company than last start but is in good form and can make her own luck. LETHAL THOUGHTS has jumped put well to resume. HARALDUS rises in grade but is building a handy record and gets a tongue tie on. Selections: 4,2,6,7 Suggested Bet: Umgawa each way Race 7 JAZZ AFFAIR is unbeaten at 1400m. The stable have a great record travelling to Victorria and this appears a suitable race third up stepping up to this trip. IGOTCHA is racing in good form and ran as well as the race shape would allow her last start. BLISTERING showed a glimpse of her best form last start and has a chance if she repeats that effort. DOWN LOW will strip fitter for her latest run and maps well. Selections: 4,1,2,7 Suggested Bet: Jazz Affair to win Race 8 HOLYMANZ has a touch of class and has jumped out in good style since his solid run in the Eclipse. NIGHT ENDEAVOUR did enough at his first Australian run and should appreciate the rise in trip on a more spacious track. DASHING was ridden a touch conservatively last start and could get control with a more positive ride. RIOT AND ROSE had the tempo against and pulled up with a degree of lameness in the same race as Dashing. Selections: 1,4,3,2 Suggested Bet: Holymanz to win Race 9 Competitive race. SH’E BULLETPROOF has been freshened, she’s building a good record and has jumped out in great style between runs. INHIBITIONS was heavily backed when scoring on the Heath track and looks suited again by the likely solid tempo. BIZOT closed of well against the pattern at Ballarat and is right in the game. VAGRANT has jumped out impressively since her first up run at Ballarat and will appreciate the extra 100m. Selections: 8,3,13,2 Suggested Bet: She’s Bulletproof each way Race 10 SWEETHEARTED justified the stable’s faith breaking his maiden in BM74 grade and looks progressive. MANOLO BLING has jumped out well since her Flemington victory and maps for a good run. HARPALEE was luckless behind Sweethearted and her previous form was solid. MISS ALTAIR is racing in great form and can give a sight. DANXIA resumes gelded after an impressive maiden win here and has jumped out in terrific fashion. Selections: 4,2,9,3 Suggested Bet: Sweethearted each way Market Market
