Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on May 29, 2025May 29, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 GAULTIER hit the line strongly on debut, he has jumped out well since and should appreciate stepping up to 1200m. THE REAL MAN has trialled well over 1000m and appears suited on debut at this trip. MARETH chased ok behind a smart one on debut and should be improved by that outing. WARRIOR SMILE is race fit and can make his own luck. SALTY PEARL should appreciate dropping back from stakes company. Selections: 5,6,9,1 Suggested Bet: Gaultier each way Race 2 SPLASH BACK will need all of the 1200m but has been trialling late and will be charging late. STAR SIRIUS is racing in good form and is likely to have a tactical advantage on Splash Back in the run. EXCESS will make her own luck and gets some weight relief after the claim. ILLATIVE will strip fitter third up, she drops in grade and gets blinkers first time. Selections: 6,8,2,9 Suggested Bet: Splash Back each way Race 3 BIG SWINGER has plenty of upside and has trialled ok since a solid effort in a strong race in Sydney. JUST FOR SHOW will strip fitter for a solid return and has jumped out well between runs. NO FOOLING has won a couple of easier races in impressive fashion and looks capable of measuring up. LET’SFACETHEMUSIC and SNACK BAR are in the mix. Selections: 1,3,10,6 Suggested Bet: Big Swinger to win Race 4 STYLISH hit the line strongly to score first up and looks well placed rising in distance with the claim. CINEMATIC STAR has returned well, she’ll strip fitter third up and didn’t have the clearest passage in the home straight last start. EXTREME VIRTUE comes through the same race as Cinematic Star, she ran well there and will strip fitter second up. SOUND IT OUT looked good winning an easier race first up. Selections: 4,10,1,11 Suggested Bet: Stylish each way Same Race Multi: Stylish (Top 2) + Cinematic Star (Top 4) Race 5 MADIYYA looks promising, she may need some luck from the draw but should relish the rise to 1600m. I ONLY WISH is racing in great form and chased well behind a promising galloper last start. COLOUR OUR WORLD ran well first up after covering ground at Warrnambool, she’s had time to get over that run and is drawn for a soft run. STORM SEASON had excuses behind Madiyya last time. I AM VELVET has her quirks but ear muffs come off and there’s no doubting her talent. Selections: 2,3,8,4 Suggested Bet: Madiyya to win Race 6 JIMMY THE BEAR is sure to be improved by a good first up run and the War Machine form looks strong. VERDAD needs dry ground but has improved his winning strike rate of late and can settle just off the speed. REGAL VOW has had a stop start prep but will no doubt strip fitter for her last run. REGAL ZEUS is racing well and looks set for a good run near the speed. LIM’S SALTORO will strip fitter second up. Selections: 3,7,10,2 Suggested Bet: Jimmy The Bear each way Race 7 Even race. BOLD SOUL backs up after not having much room in the home straight last week and looks suited stepping up to 2000m. SUNSETS has had excuses of late and the Easter Cup run lines up well here. WONDER KID improved nicely second up to win over this course and distance second up and should be further improved. DUBLIN JOURNAL and BOARDRIDER have claims Selections: 1,8,4,6 Suggested Bet: Bold Soul each way Race 8 NIANCE looks well placed to maintain her unbeaten first up record. She’s trialled in great style to resume and appears suited but what should by a strong tempo. AVIATRESS was back in form last start and will also appreciate good speed up front. CLEO CAT has been well placed to date, she’ll be part of the speed but it’s hard to overlook her upside. TITLE FIGHTER won well at big odds last start but is a winner here and will be strong late. Selections: 7,4,10,2 Suggested Bet: Niance to win Race 9 Tough finish. PRANCING SPIRIT won a similar race here last time and still gets in ok after the claim. DIRTY GRIN is racing in great form and has jumped out ok down the Flemington straight behind Asfoora and Winnasedge between runs. HEARCOMESTHESTAR has the wide draw but it is the chute start and she gets some weight relief after two terrific runs this prep. RAIKOKE has trialled well and maps for a good run. HARALDUS is another that has trialled well, should he gain a start. TALBRAGAR is in the mix. Selections: 5,16,13,9 Suggested Bet: Prancing Spirit each way Market Market
