Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on December 15, 2023December 15, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 LITTLE STIRRER has looked sharp at the jumpouts and looks suited at 1000m on debut. TRAFFIC WARDEN worked home strongly on debut and may settle closer. EXPRESS YO’SELF and CENTRE SQUARE come through the same race and both have some claims. Selections: 9,1,5,7 Suggested Bet: Little Stirrer each way Race 2 HERMAN HESSE did enough first up, he generally improves second up and has jumped out nicely between runs. ALHAMBRA LAD backs up from last week and will appreciate stepping up to 2400m. FERAGO has been up a long time and would appreciate some give in the ground but some of his recent good track runs have been good enough for this. GRAND PIERRO and REGAL POWER have a case. Selections: 2,3,4,6 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 2,4 & 3 Race 3 EISHAA is racing through the grades in impressive fashion and gives the impression she can measure up to this slightly tougher opposition. SO SHE CAN FLY will get her preferred firm ground and has been umping out well to resume. PITCHANUN was scratched from Thursday’s twilight meeting for this and maps for a soft run. FULLPROOF has upside and is another that can measure up to tougher opposition. PIAGGIO and MONTATHER are in the mix. Selections: 9,7,4,5 Suggested Bet: Eishaa each way Race 4 RUNNING BY hit the line strongly first up and looks well placed stepping up to 1400m. LONGTIMEDREAMING has returned in great form and appears capable of taking another rise in grade. QUANG TRI gets blinkers first time and looks set for a comfortable run on speed. SPANISH TIDES has a great second up record and returned with an encouraging run at Cranbourne, as did RUMBLED AGAIN. Selections: 8,4,3,1 Suggested Bet: Running By to win Race 5 IS IT ME comes back slightly in trip but doesn’t look badly treated after the claim and will be strong late. LE DERRIERE looks a strong danger and may settle with a tactical advantage. VILLA SEVENTYNINE may need some luck to slice through the field but is racing well and got that luck last start. PINK BEAU TY is in career best form but will need some luck from the draw. Selections: 1,8,4,6 Suggested Bet: Is It Me to win Race 6 BLUE MOON displayed some handy acceleration to win last time and has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. BLAZING REBEL won well last start, he should strip even fitter third up and the extra 200m is in his favour. MY BROTHERS KEEPER hasn’t delivered on his early promise but can be put to sleep from the draw and his best would be good enough. SLATE can make his own luck and give a sight. Selections: 7,1,10,8 Suggested Bet: Blue Moon each way Race 7 Good race. OAK HILL sprinted quickly when he got clear last start and is one of a few in this race with bright futures. JAMBALAYA had been a jumpout star leading into his debut win and should roll forward and prove hard to run down. GINGER ‘N’ PINK won her maiden in good fashion last start and gets right down in the weights after the claim. FLYING CONCELLO has jumped out well to resume and her form ties in with Ginger ‘n’ Pink. Selections: 5,3,12,4 Suggested Bet: Oak Hill each way Race 8 HE’S HANDSOME was held up at a crucial stage last start and should’ve finished closer to a smart one in Jimmysstar. BEL AIR hit the line well last time, he looks suited stepping up to 1400m and Is It Me will have provided a guide on that form earlier. HE’S BESET ran well in the same race as He’s Handsome and gets blinkers first time. TASMAN PARK is another to come through the Jimmysstar race, where he copped some inference on the home turn. Selections: 8,3,10,4 Suggested Bet: He’s Handsome each way Race 9 DUBAI POET gets blinkers first time and looks likely to control the tempo. TONNEOFGRIT crossed the line with Dubai Poet last start and generally improves second up. OUR REDENTE will be disadvantaged if it’s a leaders track but will be charging late. BERMADEZ ha an awkward draw to contend with but ran too well first up to overlook. Selections: 9,11,8,4 Suggested Bet: Dubai Poet each way Same Race Multi: Dubai Poet (Top 2) + Tonneofgrit (Top 4) Race 10 Tough finish. If emergencies KIN and SHOHEI gain a start they would both be right in the game. PRANCING SPIRIT has shown tactical versatility of late and can settle just off the speed. BOLDINHO is flying and has been kept fresh for this. ELKINGTON ROAD has been jumping out in great style to resume. JUNGLE JIM will strip fitter and make his own luck. PROWLING will be close to his peak third up. Selections: 17,18,14,8 Suggested Bet: Kin each way Market Market
