Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 15, 2019February 15, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 SMOLDERING ASHES (1) has only been placed at one of his past six starts but gets his chance tonight. He ran 3rd to Jaxon Fella in good time here three starts back and should give a great sight from the pole. ARDENS CONCORD (6) faced the breeze when a solid 3rd to Campora at his first run back from a spell and should strip fitter. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (10) trailed the leader for consecutive 2nds here recently and looks to get a soft run again tonight. MASTER JAXON (2) could be a big improver from this draw. Tips: 1 6 10 2 Suggested Bet: TOUCH OF SUCCESS (10) each way. Race 2 CHOK CHAI (2) has won 11 of his 17 career starts and resumed from a spell with a strong win in 1.55.0 at this track. He then booted throughto lead and had his chance when narrowly beaten by Lord Willoughby but this looks an easier assignment. RUNAWAY THREE (3) led throughout for a comfortable win here at his last start but probably won’t find the top tonight. SOHO WONDER (1) was well driven to win here three starts back and can play a part from the pole. BRONZE SEEKER (7) will be charging home if they go hard early. Tips: 2 3 1 7 Suggested Bet: CHOK CHAI (2) to win. Race 3 BETTOR AIM (3) was a dominant 1.52.4 winner before having plenty of excuses in the Nights Of Thunder Final. He is drawn to press forward and looks extremely hard to beat. BENHOPE RULZ (12) was an impressive winner of the Nights Of Thunder and looks the main danger but will be giving his main rival a start. NAVAL AVIATOR (1) finished 3rd here last week and looks a great place chance from the pole. JIMMY MACK (4) was a dominant first-up winner but has an awkward draw outside the favourite. Tips: 3 12 1 4 Suggested Bet: BETTOR AIM (3) to win. Race 4 PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (1) has been dominant in winning all six starts this campaign. This is collectively the strongest field that he has met but he has the advantage of the pole and is clearly the one to beat. GEE JAY KAY (3) hasn’t had much luck in his two defeats by SHOCKWAVE (8) and should get a better run in transit here. SHOCKWAVE (8) has impressed in winning his last two but has a tough draw to overcome. FRANCO EDWARD (9) has plenty of ability but the barrier makes it a very difficult task. Tips: 1 3 8 9 Suggested Bet: PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (1) to win. Race 5 HERRICK ROOSEVELT (1) has won ten of his 18 career starts and has plenty of ability. He resumes here from a 14-month absence without a trial so must be taken on trust but he is in the right camp for a first-up win. VULTAN TIN (4) faced the breeze when narrowly beaten here last week and should be right in the finish again. MITCH MAGUIRE (7) caused an upset when getting over the top of VULTAN TIN (4) and can repeat the dose with the right trip. ALWAYS ARJAY (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 4 7 10 Suggested Bet: MITCH MAGUIRE (7) each way. Race 6 WESLEY (2) led throughout to win in 1.55.2 over this distance at his last start and a repeat performance will make him extremely hard to catch. MR MOJITO (9) led when a close 4th to Mitch Maguire here last week in Free For All company. This is the weakest field he has faced in a long time but he has to overcome the widest draw over the sprint trip. CHIAROSCURO (10) has won two of his last three and could be dangerous from this draw. DEBT FREE CHARLIE (4) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 2 9 10 4 Suggested Bet: WESLEY (2) to win. Race 7 GOTTA GO GABBANA (5) was a strong winner from the breeze in a similar field two starts back before finishing a close-up 4th to Vultan Tin. She is back to mares’ company tonight and is clearly the one to beat. MISS SANGRIAL (2) was driven perfectly when victorious here last start and should be in the finish from this draw. LADY DE LA RENTA (7) has won two of her last four and is always dangerous with the right run. MARY CATHERINE (8) defeated Maczaffair here last week but will find it hard from out here. Tips: 5 2 7 8 Suggested Bet: GOTTA GO GABBANA (5) to win. Race 8 CAVIAR STAR (9) impressed in winning three on end and was then far from disgraced when a brave 2nd to The Trilogy here last week. This looks an easier assignment and he has won from the stand recently. ITS BETTOR TO WIN (10) finished last but was only 7.6m from the winner in the open class event last week and will appreciate the drop in class. ATMOSPHERICAL (3) is a very consistent standing start performer and will give a great sight if he finds the top. ROMAN AVIATOR (1) can play a part if he steps smoothly. Tips: 9 10 3 1 Suggested Bet: CAVIAR STAR (9) to win. Race 9 LIBERTY ROSE (11) has been placed at her five starts this campaign and should break through soon. She ran on well when 3rd to Miss Sangrial here last week and this looks an easier assignment. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (1) has been performing solidly from bad draws and will appreciate the pole tonight. FROSTYFLYER (2) was a fair 2nd at his first run back from a spell and will strip fitter. BE ON GUARD (10) enjoyed a lovely run when an upset winner here last week and is drawn to get a similar trip. Tips: 11 1 2 10 Suggested Bet: LIBERTY ROSE (11) to win. Race 10 JAMES BUTT (2) impressed in winning two on end before running on strongly to finish a close-up 4th to Lord Willloughby in stronger company. He is drawn perfectly here and is clearly the one to beat. ABSOLUTION (1) has been battling bad draws and gets his chance to improve tonight. HOIHO (10) has been racing extremely consistently on country tracks and has a lovely trailing barrier here. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (9) was a solid first-up 4th but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 1 10 9 Suggested Bet: JAMES BUTT (2) to win. Market Market
