Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 21, 2024March 21, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 THREE RUMOURS (9) resumed from a short break when a strong 5th from the breeze in the Golden Girls on Monday and will appreciate the significant drop in class tonight. BEYOND THE SEA (8) did defeat THREE RUMOURS (9) three starts back and enjoys the barrier advantage again. FLEUR DE MAQUIS (5) is a tough mare who will be hard to catch if she can bully her way to the front in the early stages. FREE WHEELING (1) has finished out of the money in her two starts back from a spell but could be a sharp improver from the pole. Tips: 9 8 5 1 Suggested Bet: THREE RUMOURS (9) to win. Race 2 BURGHLEY SHARD (1) is a one-paced customer but he won here three starts back and will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. LETS GET ROCKIN (11) won a Lightning Lap event at his first run in the state before tackling a stronger field on Monday and he should get a nice run from his trailing draw. ADDA SPOILT MAJOR (4) has been placed in three of his last four starts and should be thereabouts again. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (6) drops in class on his recent assignments and can make his presence felt. Tips: 1 11 4 6 Suggested Bet: BURGHLEY SHARD (1) to win. Race 3 HOPPYS WAY (1) led when narrowly beaten by Wonderful To Fly in the 4YO Classic towards the end of his last campaign. He resumes here without a trial but he will give a great sight if anywhere near his best. THE MIKI TAKER (4) is back to his best with consecutive victories at this track and has the strength to be put into the race when desired. FINVARRA (8) ran on nicely to finish 3rd in a stronger field here last week but is drawn poorly tonight. EL CHEMA (7) over-raced at his first run back from a spell and can improve sharply. Tips: 1 4 8 7 Suggested Bet: HOPPYS WAY (1) to win. Race 4 TRICKY MIKI (6) enjoyed the run of the race when nosing out Minstrel to win the Lord Mayors Cup and then was caught in the breeze when 7th in Pinjarra Cup. This is an easier assignment and he should fight out the finish. TENZING BROMAC (8) is drawn wide and is first-up but he is a very talented pacer who will make his presence felt if he is forward in condition. HAMPTON BANNER (1) has the draw to lead or sit behind the speed and looks a good place chance. BLITZEMBYE (3) is also first-up but could some cheek if he leads. Tips: 6 8 1 3 Suggested Bet: TRICKY MIKI (6) to win. Race 5 NEVER ENDING (6) has won 12 of his 14 career starts and is one of the best prospects in the country. He had a very soft trial in preparation for his first-up run and is clearly the one to beat. HOTLY PURSUED (5) has won four of his five starts since resuming and will give the favourite something to catch if he finds the lead in the early stages. ALL IS WELL (2) has battled wide draws at his last two starts and is capable of being a giant killer with the right run. LUSAKA (3) has trialled nicely for his return and can figure. Tips: 6 5 2 3 Suggested Bet: NEVER ENDING (6) to win. Race 6 HECTOR (2) disappointed first-up before finishing at the rear of a very strong trial at Pinjarra but looks a sharp improver here if he can jump to the front. STEEL THE SHOW (7) finished 5th in the WA Pacing Cup before defeating Minstrel at his last start before a break and is the class runner of the field. ARDENS HORIZON (8) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts but both runs were full of merit and he loves the stand. LUCCA (3) is a last start winner who would give a great sight if he could find the front. Tips: 2 7 8 3 Suggested Bet: HECTOR (2) each way. Race 7 MIKI JET (2) has won three of his last four starts and this event looks at his mercy again from his nice draw. THE WILDCARD (1) has the gate speed to lead if desired and should be in the money. IRA POOLE (12 was an all-the-way winner in good time here last week but won’t find it as easy from the backline draw. GALAXY WARRIOR (11) is racing well and gets to follow the favourite through at the start from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 2 1 12 11 Suggested Bet: MIKI JET (2) to win. Race 8 SOUND WAVE (1) led when narrowly beaten here two starts back and a repeat performance can see him go one better tonight. ROCKABALL (4) faced the breeze when a strong 2nd here last week and can make his presence felt again. CABSAV (5) didn’t race at her best last time in but she resumes here and could be an improver. ALFA PRINCE (10) is limited but he is drawn to get a nice run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 4 5 10 Suggested Bet: SOUND WAVE (1) to win. Race 9 MISTER LINTON (10) resumed with a nice 2nd here last week and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. LUKE ATTACK (4) has been finishing just behind the placegetters in stronger fields recently and will appreciate the drop in class here. IMPRESSIVE SIGNS (3) sprinted brilliantly to defeat a weak field at his last start and can play a part with the right run. JUSTLIKE TURBO (11) has been placed in two of his last three starts and can be in the money again. Tips: 10 4 3 1 Suggested Bet: MISTER LINTON (10) to win. Race 10 WATER LOU (1) has won ten of her 14 race starts and is clearly the one to beat after sitting outside XCEPTIONAL ARMA (3) and defeating a similar field comfortably at her last start. XCEPTIONAL ARMA (3) was a strong winner from the breeze at her last start and looks the main danger but it is hard to seeing her turn the tables on the favourite from their last meeting. IN A WINK (4) and LENORA JANE (5) should enjoy nice runs just behind the speed and can be placed. Tips: 1 3 4 5 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (1) to win. Market Market
