Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 22, 2024March 7, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WATER LOU (7) has won nine of her 12 career starts and resumed with a comfortable win first-up. She possesses great gate speed and appeals as the one to beat. XCEPTIONAL ARMA (9) won four on end to finish her 2YO season and was far from disgraced when working hard in the run and finishing 2nd to IN A WINK (8) at her first run back from a spell. LENORA JANE (6) resumed with an eye-catching victory and is capable of matching the rise in class. IN A WINK (8) had all the favours when winning first up but is drawn poorly here. Tips: 7 9 6 8 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (7) to win. Race 2 IRA POOLE (5) has resumed with two impressive victories and his 1.54.8 all-the-way win at his last start indicates that he is the one to beat again. MIGHTHAVTIME (7) has been placed in ten of her past 12 starts and will be charging home again. BEE JAYS BOY (1) has been unplaced in his five starts since recording an all-the-way win at this track but must be respected from the pole. POST GAME (4) hasn’t had much go his way at his last two starts and can be a big improver tonight. Tips: 5 7 1 4 Suggested Bet: MIGHTHAVTIME (7) each way. Race 3 FLYING RUMOUR (5) is in career best form with a win and two 2nds from his last three starts and he should fight out the finish again. TIGER ROYAL (7) has been placed in his last five starts in stronger company and will make his presence felt again. IFEEL SIKDARL (1) led throughout from this draw in 1.56.1 three starts back and will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. GETNWIGGY WITHIT (4) was only 3.8m from Galactic Star when 4th to that pacer here last week and can play a part. Tips: 5 7 1 4 Suggested Bet: FLYING RUMOUR (5) to win. Race 4 FRANCO ECUADOR (1) has won seven of his 11 career starts and his 1.54.7 all-the-way victory here last week indicates that he is ready for the rise in class. PINNY TIGER (6) looked to be bolting when held up for a run in stronger company here last week and looks the main danger. ALCOPONY (2) is racing extremely well and should enjoy a nice run just behind the speed. SOHO DOW JONES (3) ran on well to finish 3rd to Galactic Star here last week and can be in the money again. Tips: 1 6 2 5 Suggested Bet: FRANCO ECUADOR (1) to win. Race 5 HOTLY PURSUED (2) has recorded three wins out of four starts this time in and should lead tonight and prove very hard to catch. ROLLING FIRE (10) was an impressive first-up winner from the breeze and appeals as the main danger. HOLY HECKA (3) has been a beaten favourite at his first two starts back from a spell but shouldn’t be far away from his nice barrier. ALL IS WELL (7) is flying but is the worst drawn of the main chances. Tips: 2 10 3 8 Suggested Bet: HOTLY PURSUED (2) to win. Race 6 LUCCA (5) isn’t the most reliable beginner but he has won three of his five starts from the stand and is the one to beat based on his last start win from the breeze at Pinjarra. LADY PRIMA DONNA (2) is an improving type who will give a great sight if she can jump to the front. HECTOR (10) has only had one start in the last ten months and resumes without a trial but has plenty of ability if anywhere near his best. OTIS (6) lacked dash at his last start but would be a major player on his previous two starts. Tips: 5 2 10 6 Suggested Bet: LUCCA (5) to win. Race 7 STENO (3) has used her dazzling gate speed to lead throughout at her last four starts including a 1.51.9 win here a fortnight ago and is the one to beat again. WONDERFUL TO FLY (1) has disappointed at her last two starts but she is drawn to trail STENO (3) tonight and looks the obvious danger. CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (5) was a 4.8m 2nd to STENO (3) at her last start but isn’t as well drawn tonight. RUMOUR HAS IT (4) drops in class but is drawn awkwardly and will need some luck in running to upset the favoured pair. Tips: 3 1 5 4 Suggested Bet: STENO (3) to win. Race 8 LAMANDIER (1) has battled bad barriers at his last two starts but was placed behind Pinny Tiger at his previous start and looks the one to beat from the pole. WASA HEAT SEEKER (11) has been performing well in strong country fields and is ready for the rise in class. TUBBS FARQUHAR (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. COWBOYS N BANDITS (6) couldn‘t get into the race last week but must be considered on his previous two efforts. Tips: 1 11 10 6 Suggested Bet: WASA HEAT SEEKER (11 each way. Race 9 OCTOBER REIGN (1) led throughout in 1.56.6 here three starts back and should lead and give a great sight from the pole. SOHO SANTORINI (3) is drawn to get a nice run behind the speed and will be dangerous if he sees daylight at the right time. WATTS UP SUNSHINE (5) faced the breeze and was only narrowly beaten in 1.54.3 here last week and will make his presence felt again. SHOWPONY (7) has had no luck at his last three starts and is capable of causing an upset if the race is run at a solid tempo. Tips: 1 3 5 7 Suggested Bet: OCTOBER REIGN (1) to win. Race 10 TERROR IN TEXAS (3) hasn’t won for over three years but his last two starts have been full of merit and this looks a suitable assignment. MADDY ROCKS (1) has been placed in her last three starts in similar events and must be considered from the pole. LUKES MISTAKE (5) grew wings when getting up to defeat The Masked Crusader at his last start and will be charging home again. ULTIMATE ROCKER (2) has good gate speed and should be in the firing line throughout. Tips: 3 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: TERROR IN TEXAS (3) to win. Market Market
