Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 8, 2023June 8, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MY PRAYER (1) has only been placed in one of her 14 starts this time in but draws to lead here and should give a great sight against moderate opposition. MEDIEVAL MAN (3) followed 12 unplaced runs with a solid 2nd to High Price at his last start and a repeat performance should see him fight out the finish. THE KRAKEN (4) hasn’t finished closer than 8th at his last six starts but drops in class and can figure. BALTIC ACE (10) has been unplaced at his last nine starts but can get in the money tonight from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 1 7 10 3 Suggested Bet: MY PRAYER (1) to win. Race 2 ACHARNE GIRL (10) has resumed with three soft wins against easier company. She goes up in class and is awkwardly drawn but still appeals as the one to beat. MISS SERENADE (1) has been unplaced in her three starts back from a spell but looks the leader in a race devoid of pressure and she can give a sight. IM THEMIGHTYLUCY (11) ran on well to finish 3rd to Wonderful To Fly two starts back and is dangerous with the right run. BETTORS DESTROYA (3) is drawn to be prominent throughout and can play a part. Tips: 10 1 11 3 Suggested Bet: ACHARNE GIRL (10) to win. Race 3 TRICKY MIKI (6) hasn’t been able to break back into the winners’ circle this time in but this race looks more suitable and he should fight out the finish. WHATS UP SUNSHINE (5) hasn’t had much luck and he will be thereabouts if he can reproduce his 1.54.9 placing from the breeze at his last start. ELDAYTONA (4) was a close 2nd here last week and he will be hard to catch if he can work his way to the front in the early stages. CLASSIC CHOICE (8) is racing well but is drawn to be in for a tough run in transit again. Tips: 6 5 4 8 Suggested Bet: TRICKY MIKI (6) each way. Race 4 PRINCE OF PLEASURE (6) has resumed with two impressive victories in weaker company and is ready for the rise in class. FINVARRA (2) has been a beaten fancy at his two starts back from a spell but both runs have been full of merit and he is well drawn tonight. HIMSELF (3) is the reigning Golden Nugget winner resuming from a spell and he looks the other winning chance. THE MUSTANG (4) is a good chance to cross at the start and is a good place chance under that scenario. Tips: 6 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PLEASURE (6) to win. Race 5 SOHO DOW JONES (1) has led throughout to win his last two starts and the rise in class tonight is offset by the pole draw. GOODFELLAZ (5) is the class horse of the field and is racing well but has an awkward draw to overcome. CHEER THE MAJOR (10) is an extremely consistent type and he should enjoy a lovely run on the back of the polemarker. LIL HAPPY FELLA (11) is in career best form and can sneak into the money at good each way odds. Tips: 1 5 10 11 Suggested Bet: SOHO DOW JONES (1) to win. Race 6 NASE VIRA (5) was extremely green on debut but will be better for the experience and looks one to follow. MISS HEPBURN (3) ran on well on debut to finish 2nd to BAZAAR PACKAGE (9) and looks a major player here. GRAND COUTEAU (1) wasn’t far away when 5th in that event and looks a big improver from the pole. BAZAAR PACKAGE (9) has led throughout to defeat similar fields at his last two starts but has a tough draw to overcome tonight. Tips: 5 3 1 9 Suggested Bet: NASE VIRA (5) to win. Race 7 MAGNIFICENT STORM (5) has led throughout from similar barriers at his last three starts and should have little trouble making it four on end tonight. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (1) ran on from the rear to record a brilliant 1.54.9 win here last week and looks a good chance to fill the quinella tonight. FASTER THAN DAD (4) is racing well but is likely to settle at the tail of the field. CORDERO (2) is drawn to get a nice run behind the speed and can follow a hot speed. Tips: 5 1 4 2 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (5) to win. Race 8 FESS UP (1) has won four of his five starts this time in with the defeat being a narrow 2nd after facing the breeze. He gets the pole draw here and is clearly the one to beat. STAR LAVRA (3) did defeat FESS UP (1) two starts back and looks an obvious danger but doesn’t have the barrier advantage tonight. HALE SAINT LOUIE (4) has been impressive in winning all four starts since crossing the Tasman and is ready for the rise in class. HES NEVER BEEN BETA (5) is right up to these on ability but will need some luck from out here. Tips: 1 3 4 5 Suggested Bet: FESS UP (1) to win. Race 9 OUR MAESTOSO (1) has been impressive in winning all three career starts and looks to have scope for further improvement. He was crossed from this barrier at his last start but he will be better for the experience and should prove hard to beat. BROMWHICH (3) has recorded comfortable victories at his two starts since crossing the Nullabor and is the obvious danger. ABUNDANCE (2) is a consistent trotter who is drawn to be prominent throughout. LUVAFLAIR (11) has been placed in six of his last eight starts and can be in the money. Tips: 1 3 2 11 Suggested Bet: OUR MAESTOSO (1) to win. Race 10 FLOEWRITER (6) resumes here without a trial but he raced in stronger company last time in and he will be hard to beat if he is close to his best. RUN FOR MERCY (3) has been placed at her last two starts and looks the obvious danger after dropping in class. SPRING LINE (1) led throughout in 1.56.1 four starts back and should give a sight from the pole over the sprint trip. SUING YOU (2) is an inconsistent mare who lost form but has been freshened and is capable of surprising first-up. Tips: 6 3 1 2 Suggested Bet: FLOEWRITER (6) to win. Market Market
