Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 1, 2022September 1, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 TENZING BROMAC (5) is unbeaten in seven starts since crossing the Tasman and impressed with a 54.9 last half in his last win. He has an awkward draw to overcome but is clearly the one to beat. RASCAL (10) has resumed in top form and will be charging to the line if he sees daylight at the right time. OUR SHELLEY BEACH (2) had no luck last start but would give them something to catch if he could find the top. IM SPIDERMAN (1) has the speed to be prominent early and won’t be far away. Tips: 5 10 2 1 Suggested Bet: TENZING BROMAC (5) to win. Race 2 SHADOW ROLL (1) hasn’t finished further back than 5th in his nine starts this time in and gets his chance to break back into the winners’ circle from the pole draw tonight. MIRRAGON (4) will strip fitter for his nice first-up 3rd here last week and should play a part. DOC HOLLIDAY (10) is first-up without a trial but will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and should be thereabouts. POWER AND GRACE (7) showed good speed to lead throughout from this draw last week but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 1 4 10 7 Suggested Bet: DOC HOLLIDAY (10) each way. Race 3 POCKET THE CASH (1) led throughout from this draw in 1.57.7 two starts back. He meets a stronger field tonight but looks the leader again and will give a great sight. THE IDEAL TOUCH (6) resumes here without a trial but raced in stronger company last time in and must be respected. JASPERVELLABEACH (4) is back in form with a win and 2nd at his last two starts and should be right in the finish. EUPHORIA (9) broke through for an overdue win at his last start but is poorly drawn here. Tips: 1 6 4 9 Suggested Bet: POCKET THE CASH (1) to win. Race 4 SWINGBAND (3) has resumed with two impressive victories over THE MIKI TAKER (4) and is clearly the one to beat after drawing inside his main rival. THE MIKI TAKER (4) has been gallant in defeat in those two starts but will find it difficult to turn the tables on the favourite. MACHS BETTOR (1) has won three of his last four starts and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. WHATARETHEODDS (10) is first-up without a trial but will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed at odds. Tips: 3 4 1 10 Suggested Bet: SWINGBAND (3) to win. Race 5 MACHNIFICENT (12) normally takes a couple of runs to hit his peak but he trialled very well for his return and should be charging home tonight at each way odds. MR FANTASTIC (10) has impressed in winning four of his six starts this time but he does have to overcome an awkward draw. SOCRATES (5) was a good winner of the San Simeon. TALKS UP A STORM (3) was a good winner here two starts back and will give plenty of cheek if he can find the front. Tips: 12 10 5 3 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (12) each way. Race 6 JUMPINGJACKMAC (2) grows a leg when races are run on his terms and could find the lead here and will give a great sight. LAVRA JOE (4) has looked sharp in winning his last two starts and is the class runner of the field but is likely to be caught in the breeze tonight. DIEGO (1) did lead throughout here recently but may elect to take a sit tonight and can be dangerous under either scenario. GAMBIT (5) ran 2nd to LAVRA JOE (4) here last week and could end up on his back in the run. Tips: 2 4 1 5 Suggested Bet: JUMPINGJACKMAC (2) to win. Race 7 ALWAYS FAST (2) has finished at the rear in his three WA starts but gets his chance to lead tonight and should be a big improver. ALTA CINDERELLA (4) over-raced in the breeze at her first run back and was beaten 61 metres but would be hard to beat if she could reproduce her brilliant trial win. CAPTURED DELIGHT (1) is first-up without a trial but is drawn to get a lovely run and should be thereabouts. AL GUERRERO (7) is the other class runner in this field but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 4 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS FAST (2) to win. Race 8 IN THE SPOTLIGHT (9) has won all five starts this time in and is the one to beat despite the wide draw and coming off a seven week break. PAROQUET (7) has led throughout to win her last two starts and will give a great sight if she can cross at the start. MISS LAMARR (2) ran a nice 3rd in a stronger field here last week and should be thereabouts again. LIVY JAY (1) was a fair 5th at her first start after a spell and has the advantage of the pole draw. Tips: 9 7 2 1 Suggested Bet: IN THE SPOTLIGHT (9) to win. Race 9 CARRERA MACH (4) will be fitter at his third run back from a spell and appeals as the one to beat. DISCO UNDER FIRE (3) has finished midfield at his last five starts but will be a big improver if he can find the front. ATHABASCAN (8) is drawn poorly but drops in class for this assignment and can figure. WOODLEA RAGNAR (1) has been disappointing this time in but can be placed from the pole tonight. Tips: 4 3 8 1 Suggested Bet: CARRERA MACH (4) to win. Race 10 AMERICAN MONARCH (2) has been placed in her two starts this time against stronger fields and looks the one to beat from this draw. CABSAV (8) bounced back from a disappointing effort with a nice 2nd at her last start and can’t be overlooked despite the wide draw. CHEWYSLOOSECHANGE (3) is an inexperienced filly who has been placed in three of her four race starts and shouldn’t be far away again. LUCIENNE (6) was blocked for a run at her last start but has shown ability and can figure tonight. Tips: 2 8 3 6 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN MONARCH (2) to win. Race 11 PATCHED (3) has won five of his last six starts with the defeat coming about when he broke at the start. He ran a track record at Pinjarra at his last start and is clearly the one to beat. BEEFOUR BACARDI (6) is drawn outside of his main rival but has won seven of his last eight starts and looks the only danger. MAJESTIC DREAM (5) and ELISH STAR (1) are reliable trotters and can be placed but lack the class of the favoured pair. Tips: 3 6 5 1 Suggested Bet: PATCHED (3) to win. Market Market
