Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 14, 2025July 14, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 COCOBOLO (4) controlled last time out but dashed home in an impressive sectional over the 2185m and won with a leg in the air, steps back to the mile and looks a fantastic chance again. IM CATEGORY FIVE (7) was very impressive on return but is likely to need just as good a run to overcome the wide draw. THE SEA SIREN (5) has talent and is fitter for the first up run. CRUNCHNSIP (6) will find this more challenging from the draw and class of race. TRIXIE DORA (2) returns and has the draw advantage but was on the green side with her 3 runs before a freshen up. CINCH (8) will be running on but looks more a novelty chance at this stage. Tips: 4 7 5 6 Suggested Bet: COCOBOLO (4) to win. Race 2 TELLMETOATTACK (3) looks the likely leader here and although he has been disappointing since returning, this looks a good race for him to bounce back. Same can be said for GOGGINS (2) who has drawn to get the perfect run, has yet to fire this time in but had excuses in his last run, fitter again. MANGO TANGO (6) has improved recently but the draw is a touch awkward. IWILL NEVER KNOW (4) will do some work and stick on. KARAOKE STAR (9) will appreciate the drop back to a lightning lap where he has more depth. Tips: 2 3 6 9 Suggested Bet: GOGGINS (2) each way. Race 3 ELEGANT PEAK (9) is fitter, and the first up run had merit, she has talent overall and expecting a sharp improvement. MRIYA DREAM (4) is a quick beginner but is better suited to shorter trips, may be driven more conservative even if finding the front. QUIGGLEY (5) is my nemesis and just because we’ve had some time apart doesn’t mean we will get on any better, he is very talented, but the draw is awkward for his racing style. LAVRADORE (1) is a place hope from the pole, wasn’t a bad effort last run. BETTY BOOTZ OFF (8) comes into novelty contention as well, but she can be a bit hit and miss in the mobile. DARK SECRET (10) is capable of running on well from the back of the field, just needs a genuine tempo. Tips: 9 5 4 8 Suggested Bet: ELEGANT PEAK (9) each way. Race 4 Could be an interesting battle early but expecting CIGANDA (4) to likely cross to the top with her early speed and look for some cover. GIRL OF BRIGHTNESS (5) is racing well and likely looks for a forward position and represents each way value. SHOOBEES DOUBLE (7) chased a hot speed last time out and is better suited in this grade even from the draw. THE BETTOR SIDE (11) is capable and has got depth in this class of field. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (12) could be an improver, even from the draw. ELIVRA JANE (9) is a novelty chance but has had a few opportunities. HEAD OFFICE (10) is a hard one to gauge, capable of running into the money. It’s a tricky old race and would be playing wider in the early quaddie and play to the value with your investments. Tips: 11 4 5 7 Suggested Bet: CIGANDA (4) each way. Race 5 LUCIENNE (2) was crossed by a very quick beginner last time out and still performed strongly, looks to come out as hard as she can and is a major player in this again. SUNSHINE SWIFT (1) isn’t the quickest beginner but has the draw to be prominent and last run was better, could be dangerous late if she settles close enough. CRY HAVOC (11) is racing well and will be hoping for a lead time as he has a bit of depth on his side. SWITCH BLADE (4) has been flying under the radar recently and can bob up in this, keep safe. CALL TO ARMS (7) suited in this grade and can improve, the old boy has been mixing his form a bit lately. JINGLING JEWELS (3) could possibly improve, keep safe in novelties. Tips: 2 1 11 4 Suggested Bet: LUCIENNE (2) to win. Race 6 Bit of speed off the front line. RIPPER VIEW (1) caught the eye in her last run, but it was in a weaker race, she has options from the draw and shouldn’t be too far away. ME FLASH (5) is dropping in grade and although the run didn’t look great last time out, he was racing better horses and two starts ago performed well. RONALD SCOTT (11) is a smart type who can run a bold race, ability is perfect for this grade but sometimes his gait can fail him. SUNDANCER RAINBOW (8) has the perfect draw, and run will depend on RIPPER VIEW (1). SPIRITOFANANGEL (2) lacks early speed but has been consistent, novelty chance along with SPORTING GRACE (3) who is better suited to the shorter trip along with AMARETTO ANGEL (4) who has good early speed, but the draw could work out to be awkward. BALINGUP BOY (10) capable but returns first up and will require some speed and same can be said for the consistent BARBADOS (12). Tips: 5 11 1 8 Suggested Bet: ME FLASH (5) to win. Race 7 RUBY LOU (1) finally gets a good draw after some luckless but solid efforts in recent runs, she is a bold front runner but has options, should go close. KINKY (2) is in top form and can-do work in her races, keeps elevating and should run well. JAXS IDEAL (3) had the race not run to suit on return and is very capable. BULL SHARK BETTY (9) can be quite dangerous late if the tempo suits, she has good closing speed. ARETHA (10) is better known on speed but trialled up well and must be respected. GELSOMINO AMAL (8) can be included in the novelties but hasn’t lived up to market expectations in recent runs. SOHO MARGARITA (6) creates interest but happy to watch in her WA debut from the draw. Tips: 1 2 9 3 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOU (1) each way. Race 8 SOHO HONEY RIDER (8) caught the eye in her return run and the indication from the RacingWA interviews was that she would’ve needed the run, she looks to get the run of the race here and be very dangerous late. SOHO VESPER LIND (1) over raced last time out but prior form had been sound, looks the likely leader again. CODENAME MARCUS (10) has good closing speed and will be dangerous if there is any mid race pressure. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (9) was solid in his return and is capable, keep safe. LENORA JANE (2) races well but needs the peg line. ROCK ME OVER (6) could run a race at odds as this represents a drop in grade, but the draw is awkward, and he does lack early tactical speed. Tips: 8 10 1 6 Suggested Bet: SOHO HONEY RIDER (8) to win. Race 9 FEELING EMPATHY (1) looks the leader again but she lacked a strong last furlong and that’s a concern going into this. COHLIN (2) really comes into it from the draw, should be leaders back and performs at his best at this trip these days, not just quite at his best. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (5) is expected to go well, he can do some work in this grade and could control the race from the breeze. BEALAWYER (7) will be running on again, can win but rarely does. IDEALINCIDER (6) and SPINNER OF YARNS (8) novelty players. Looks tough for the outside June Henderson duo over the short course. Tips: 5 1 2 7 Suggested Bet: DEE JAYS BIG BOY (5) to win.
