Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 4, 2022August 4, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 THE MIKI TAKER (2) finished his last campaign with a good win over Wonderful To Fly and resumed with a narrow but impressive Bunbury victory. He is drawn inside his main rivals tonight and should give a great sight. SWINGBAND (4) resumed here without a trial but won his last three starts before going for a break and is the obvious danger. TRICKY MIKI (3) resumed with a solid Bunbury win and looks the other winning chance. HOPPYS WAY (1) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but will be prominent throughout. Tips: 2 4 3 1 Suggested Bet: THE MIKI TAKER (2) to win. Race 2 ORLANDO BLUE (2) has been unplaced at his four runs back from a spell and isn’t racing at his best but he drops in class here and is clearly the one to beat. LORD ROSCO (3) finished near the rear at his last five starts before going for a spell but he resumes here for a new trainer and will give a great sight if anywhere near his best. TUAS DELIGHT (1) is perfectly drawn and can play a part. BRACKEN SKY (7) is the other class runner of the field but he has an awkward draw to overcome. Tips: 2 3 1 7 Suggested Bet: ORLANDO BLUE (2) to win. Race 3 EUPHORIA (1) has had 15 starts without a win this time in but has run 2nd from the breeze at his last two starts and can go one better if he can hold up at the start tonight. PLUTONIUM (3) is first-up after a 12 month absence but warmed up for this assignment with a 2nd in quick Pinjarra trial and looks a major player. FANCI A DANCE (4) is drawn outside of his two main rivals but his last start was full of merit and he must be considered. ARMA EINSTEIN (7) is drawn poorly but will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 1 3 3 7 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIA (1) to win. Race 4 WILL I ROCKNROLL (1) couldn’t hold out Typhoon Banner at the start last week but impressed in sprinting over the top of the favourite in the straight. He looks a good chance to hold up tonight and is clearly the one to beat. ALTA RHETT (2) has led throughout at his last two starts but may take a sit tonight and should be thereabouts. ANGEL IN WHITE (3) was a solid 2nd from the breeze here last week and looks likely to take up the same position again. WHATBRO (5) improved to win last week and a similar performance will see him figure. Tips: 1 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: WILL I ROCKNROLL (1) to win. Race 5 MAJOR FREEWAY (1) doesn’t have the class of many of his rivals but his last start 9th had merit and he will give them something to catch if he holds up at the start. HIMSELF (6) was ultra-impressive in winning from the breeze here last week and has won all three starts in WA. MR FANTASTIC (8) overcame a backline draw to beat a similar field here last week and must be respected despite the barrier. THE GOOD LIFE (10) ran on late to finish 6th in that event and is drawn to get a nice run tonight. Tips: 1 6 8 10 Suggested Bet: MAJOR FREEWAY (1) each way. Race 6 JUMPINGJACKMAC (1) is hard to beat when he gets it his own way and only needs to repeat his all-the-way 1.55.2 victory here three starts back to be hard to beat. LAVRA JOE (2) is the up and comer with the strength to test the favourite but may take the softer option and take a sit tonight. DIEGO (3) led throughout to defeat a similar field here last week and will come into play if there is a strong early tempo. MINSTREL (7) may be the best horse in the field but is first up and is drawn poorly. Tips: 1 2 3 7 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (3) each way. Race 7 PAROQUET (1) found the front and defeated a stronger field at her last start and is clearly the one to beat from the pole tonight. SHEZA BROMAC (10) trailed PAROQUET (1) when 2nd to her last start and a similar scenario looks likely here. ALTAS ANGEL (3) was a good last start winner who will be prominent throughout from this draw. ALL THE BELLS (11) is likely to settle on the pegs and can be placed if she sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 1 10 3 11 Suggested Bet: PAROQUET (1) to win. Race 8 PATCHED (1) won three on end in easier company before finishing 6th to BEEFOUR BACARDI (10) at his last start. He has a significant handicap advantage over that rival here and will be hard to beat if he steps to the front. BEEFOUR BACARDI (10) has been impressive in winning all five starts this time in but is giving away 30 metres to the polemarker tonight. SON OF A WHIZ (3) has been placed in his last seven starts and should be thereabouts again. MAJESTIC DREAM (7) has been placed in eight of his past ten starts and can figure again. Tips: 1 10 3 7 Suggested Bet: PATCHED (1) to win. Race 9 WITHOUTTHETUH (10) looked destined for fast-class company this time last year but he has been very disappointing. He meets a very weak field tonight and he won’t get a better chance to break back into the winners’ circle. MACHLANI (4) has only been placed once in his past 14 starts but can improve here. ALLWOODS ROCKNROLL (1) has a losing sequence of 39 but drawing the pole gives him a chance in this moderate affair. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (6) was fair last week and can play a part. Tips: 10 4 1 6 Suggested Bet: WITHOUTTHETUH (10) to win. Race 10 WANEA (7) led throughout in consecutive events at this track before disappointing at her last start but can bounce back tonight. CHEWYSLOOSECHANGE (2) was fancied but did things wrong on debut but has trialled nicely since and should make her presence felt. MORISSETTE (3) ran 2nd in a recent Pinjarra trial and should be in the finish. FEELING EMPATHY (5) wasn’t suited in the breeze first-up and can improve with a better run in. transit. Tips: 7 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: WANEA (7) to win. Market Market
