Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 28, 2021October 28, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 IN THE SPOTLIGHT (8) was going to fight out the finish when she locked wheels first-up and can make amends tonight. JAY ELLE (7) was the beneficiary of the interference in that event and should be right in the finish again. QUEENINTHECORNER (1) was a solid winner at her debut and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. BRAMANTE STEPS (2) showed ability last time in and was a nice first-up winner to indicate that she is in for a good campaign. Tips: 8 7 1 2 Suggested Bet: IN THE SPOTLIGHT (8) to win. Race 2 ALTA CINDERELLA (1) has won four of her last five starts, the latest a comfortable Pinjarra victory when she zipped home in 27.5. She looks the leader from the pole and is clearly the one to beat. BOORAA (4) led throughout to defeat a stronger field here last week but isn’t likely to find the top tonight. SUING YOU (3) was an impressive first-up winner and looks set for a good campaign. DIAMOND DOVE (10) doesn’t have the class of many of her rivals but is drawn to be a good place chance. Tips: 1 4 3 10 Suggested Bet: ALTA CINDERELLA (1) to win. Race 3 EUPHORIA (6) worked hard in the run and was only bloused out on the line here last week. He can hopefully find the breeze in an easier tempo tonight and will give a great sight again. VIVERE DAMORE (3) is working back to her best form and is drawn to be right in the finish. BLUE BLAZER (7) disappointed at his last start but must be considered on his previous efforts in stronger fields. ALTA RHETT (2) has battled bad barriers this time in and can be a big improver from this draw. Tips: 6 3 7 2 Suggested Bet: BLUE BLAZER (7) each way. Race 4 STAR OF DIAMONDS (8) was placed in her first five starts back from a spell before working too hard at her last start. She looks suited in this event and should be charging home. ALTA INTRIGUE (9) is back to his best and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. ROMAN ART (1) will strip fitter for having three runs under his belt and looks a major player from the pole. SHADOW ROLL (3) was narrowly beaten by ALTA INTRIGUE (9) at his last start and must be considered from his nice draw. Tips: 8 9 1 3 Suggested Bet: STAR OF DIAMONDS (8) to win. Race 5 HURRICANE HARLEY (6) broke through at his second start in the state when a 1.53.3 winner at this track. He can use his gate speed to advantage tonight and is clearly the one to beat. PERFECT MAJOR (9) faced the breeze when a strong 3rd in that event but has a tough draw to overcome. BABYFACE ADDA (2) finished in between the fancied pair in that race before winning impressively and has the barrier advantage over his main rivals. FANCI A DANCE (1) goes up significantly in class but can be placed from the pole draw. Tips: 6 9 2 1 Suggested Bet: HURRICANE HARLEY (6) to win. Race 6 BORN TO BOOGIE (1) has impressed in overcoming wide draws to win at her last two starts. She goes up in class tonight but that is offset by her perfect draw and she should lead and prove hard to beat. ALTA BLUES (5) was slowly away from his 40m handicap last week but ran a great 2nd and should be ready to show his best. IM SOXY (2) is a proven performer in this company and has trialled nicely for his return. MY CARBON COPY (4) has a sharp turn of foot when he gets the right trip and should be charging home. Tips: 1 5 2 4 Suggested Bet: BORN TO BOOGIE (1) to win. Race 7 FINVARRA (8) was first-up here last week and couldn’t make up the required ground when 2nd to Hengheng in a slick last quarter. He looks a class above his rivals tonight and should have little trouble in overcoming the wide draw. MAJOR MUCHA (6) crosses the Nullabor with good Queensland form and is one to watch in the market at his first run in the state. THE WATCH MAKER (10) followed a win against easier company with three 3rds and can be in the money again. SIDSTREPO (1) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 8 6 10 1 Suggested Bet: FINVARRA (8) to win. Race 8 MANNING (2) has been unplaced in his past five starts but is a strong frontrunner and he should prove very hard to catch if he can take up that role. TYLER BRETT (8) is the class runner of the field and must be considered but he hasn’t been showing his customary gate speed this time in. QTOWN RIP ROARING (1) has been unplaced at his past six starts but should improve from the pole. BETTORGRINANBARIT (4) has been racing in stronger fields and should be thereabouts. Tips: 2 8 1 4 Suggested Bet: MANNING (2) to win. Race 9 MR SUNDON (8) was a dominant 17m winner against a similar field at his last start and appeals as the one to beat. NO REPUBLIC (7) led and had his colours lowered by MR SUNDON (8) last start but meets him 30m better at the handicaps and can turn the tables. TEARS OF JOY (2) is a rung below the class of the major chances but has a significant handicap advantage and is capable of winning here. MAJESTIC COURTNEY (9) crosses the Nullabor with good Victorian form but the 50m handicap makes it tough first-up. Tips: 8 7 2 9 Suggested Bet: MR SUNDON (8) to win. Race 10 JUMPINGJACKMAC (4) worked too hard in the first lap to find the front and was narrowly beaten as a $1.12 favourite at his last start. He is likely to have to breeze tonight but is a classy customer and should prove hard to beat. HAMPTON BANNER (3) led throughout to win four on end to finish his last campaign. He resumes here without a trial but looks the leader and should give a great sight. ROCKABALL (1) is drawn to get a nice run on the pegs and was a giant-killer thee starts back. TYPHOON BANNER (5) is the next best. Tips: 4 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: JUMPINGJACKMAC (4) to win. Market Market
