Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 10, 2021September 10, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 LORD ROSCO (3) led and was nabbed on the line by Boom Time here last week. He is better suited by the shorter journey and will be hard to beat if he can cross at the start. JOEY JAMES (2) has been placed at his last seven starts and looks a major player from this draw. COPY N PACE (4) has been a beaten favourite at his past four starts but can improve driven with a sit tonight. CAMLUCK KING (1) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 3 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (3) to win. Race 2 TYPHOON BANNER (1) has improved in winning two his three starts this time, sprinting home in quick time on both occasions. The only concern is that he failed when leading in between those efforts and he looks the likely leader tonight. THE WHITE RABBIT (4) has sprinted brilliantly to win his last two starts and is the obvious danger. ANVIL ROLLOVER (2) has been placed at four of his past five starts and should be thereabouts again. ALICE KAY (5) has been disappointing but should enjoy a nice run just off the speed. Tips: 1 4 2 5 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON BANNER (1) to win. Race 3 EUPHORIA (2) hasn’t finished further back than 2nd in his six starts this time in including strong 2nds from the breeze at his last three starts. He is better drawn tonight and is the one to beat. DOUBLE EXPRESSO resumes from a long absence but has won 12 of her 22 career starts and must be respected. FANCI A DANCE (10) was a strong 2nd here last week but has an awkward draw to overcome. TYLER BRETT (7) has the speed to make things interesting in the early stages and will give a sight if he crosses without doing too much work. Tips: 2 12 10 7 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIA (2) to win. Race 4 SHADOW ROLL (4) has impressed in all three starts this time in including a solid win here recently and looks the one to beat. BOOM TIME (5) is drawn outside his main rival but came from last to win here last week and is capable of finishing over the top of them again. SALEAHS COMMAND (1) led throughout here there starts back in a weaker field and can give cheek here. MANNING (8) was a good last start winner against a stronger field but is poorly drawn tonight. Tips: 4 5 1 8 Suggested Bet: SHADOW ROLL (4) to win. Race 5 WAINUI CREEK (2) has resumed from a spell in top form, winning two of her three starts. She is nicely drawn and appeals as the one to beat. MANDY JOAN (4) was an eye-catching 4th here last week after starting from a wide draw and looks better suited tonight. STAR OF DIAMONDS (5) will strip fitter for her first two runs back from a spell and should be in the finish. MY SWEET DEAL (1) ran on nicely to win here last week and her good gate speed and pole draw gives her driver options at the start. Tips: 2 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: WAINUI CREEK (2) to win. Race 6 MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) was ultra-impressive here last week when he sat outside Minstrel and put that pacer to the sword in slick time to bring up his 16th victory from 18 career starts. He gets the pole draw tonight and it is hard to make a case for his rivals. VAMPIRO (5) may have the speed to cross at the start and looks the only danger. BRACKEN SKY (2) is drawn to get a lovely run and can be placed if the towrope doesn’t snap too early. IDEAL LINER (7) is the third best horse in the race but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 5 2 7 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) to win. Race 7 WALSH (12) impressed at his last run when facing the breeze and battling on well in solid time and could be the value runner in this event. THEREUGO (3) should cross and will give a great sight out in front. THE KRAKEN (10) has been racing without luck and can play a part if he sees daylight at the right time from his awkward draw. REGAL CHEVAL (5) was a solid 2nd to Pierre Whitby after facing the breeze here last week and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 12 3 10 5 Suggested Bet: WALSH (12) each way. Race 8 MEDIEVAL MAN (7) loves the stand and recorded an impressive win from the tapes in slick time on Monday. He has the strength to overcome his 20m handicap and should prove hard to beat. LAWRENCE (8) is the class horse of the field but is first up without a trial and has the back mark to overcome. GEE SMITH (3) is first-up after a short break and will give a great sight if he can step to the front. THE TIGER ARMY (1) has been placed at his last three starts and shouldn’t be far away from his perfect draw. Tips: 7 8 3 1 Suggested Bet: MEDIEVAL MAN (7) to win. Race 9 ALWAYS AN ANGEL (8) will be fitter for her narrow but impressive first-up victory and is clearly the one to beat despite the outside barrier. OUR STAR BILLING (2) crossed from a wide draw and was only beaten 3.4m in that event and should lead and give plenty of cheek again. THREE RUMOURS (5) split the favoured pair in that race and is the other major player. SILVER STAR LOMBO (3) has won three of her last four starts but rises significantly in class tonight. Tips: 8 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS AN ANGEL (8) to win. Market Market
