Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 17, 2020December 17, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1: ELDAYTONA (2) led throughout to defeat LAVRA JOE (7) here two starts back before finishing midfield after starting from a wide draw. He looks the likely leader tonight and will prove hard to catch. LAVRA JOE (7) has been placed at his last two starts against similar fields after doing all of the work and that scenario looks likely again. MIGHTY RONALDO (10) resumes here after winning the Golden Slipper and must be respected. SUGAR STREET (4) gets his best draw in a while and can play a part. Tips: 2 7 10 4 Suggested Bet: BETTORGRINANBARIT (1) each way. Race 2: QUEEN SHENANDOAH (2) was held up at a crucial stage but ran on strongly to finish 2nd here last week. She is the best drawn of the main chances and should give a great sight. AMERICAN BRAVE (7) has been a beaten odds-on favourite at his last three starts but can’t be overlooked. BETTOR BE OSCAR (4) is racing well and gets his best barrier for a while. MISTER ARDEE (1) won’t have the speed to hold up but will be dangerous if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 2 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: QUEEN SHENANDOAH (2) to win. Race 3: JUSTASEC (3) has been battling bad draws of late but did run a close-up 3rd to Cyclone Banner here last week. He will settle closer to the front tonight and looks the one to beat. LIAM NEIL (5) is racing consistently in this class and looks the main danger. THE BLACK CARDINAL (1) has the gate speed to lead early and then has options so won’t be far away. EXTRADITE (11) has hit form with a win and 2nd from his last two starts against easier company and can play a part from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 3 5 1 11 Suggested: JUSTASEC (3) to win. Race 4: GALACTIC STAR (6) is racing consistently in this company without having much luck. He can press forward and gain cover in the early stages and should be dangerous from that position. BLETCHLEY PARK (2) ran a close-up 4th in the Fremantle Cup before never being in the race from a wide draw in the WA Cup. He may find the top tonight and will give a great sight in that role. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (9) led throughout here last week against a similar field but isn’t as well drawn tonight. VAMPIRO (10) will enjoy a soft run and can be dangerous. Tips: 6 2 9 10 Suggested Bet: GALACTIC STAR (6) to win. Race 5: TO FAST TO SERIOUS (5) ran a nice 3rd at his first start in open company before finishing midfield in stronger fields at his last two starts. He is drawn inside his main rival tonight and appeals as the one to beat. PATRONUS STAR (8) is first-up tonight but has impressed in winning all of his seven WA runs and is the obvious danger. THAT’S PERFECT (7) has ran slashing 2nds at his only two starts here but runs into two smart ones tonight. SANGUE REALE (10) always needs luck at this level but can be dangerous with the right run. Tips: 5 8 7 10 Suggested Bet: TO FAST TO SERIOUS (5) to win. Race 6: PERFECT MAJOR (6) upset Chicago Bull in the RWWA Cup before running a solid 5th in the WA Pacing Cup. He drops significantly in class for this assignment and is clearly the one to beat. SIR GALAHAD (7) ran on strongly when a close 2nd to CYCLONE BANNER (9) here last week and looks the main danger. CYCLONE BANNER (9) was a nice winner of that event but has a tough draw to overcome. BAD ROUND (1) doesn’t have the class of his rivals but can be placed. Tips: 6 7 9 1 Suggested Bet: PERFECT MAJOR (6) to win. Race 7: ALTA LOUISA (2) impressed with a first-up win and then caught the eye when charging to the line to finish 3rd in a similar field to what she meets tonight. She has a significant barrier advantage this time and appeals as the one to beat. TIFFANY ROSE (9) has utilised her dazzling gate speed to record consecutive all-the-way victories and will be hard to catch if she crosses. SAVVY BROMAC (7) has won her past three starts against easier company but is ready for the rise in class. STAR FROMTHEPALACE (12) is always thereabouts. Tips: 2 9 7 12 Suggested Bet: ALTA LOUISA (2) to win. Race 8: SOMEBEACHPARTY (3) impressed with consecutive 2nds to Balcatherine before sitting outside The Notorious One when a game 2nd to that pacer. She has a nice barrier tonight and looks the one to beat. SWEET MADDISON (7) has resumed with two all-the-way victories and looks one of the main dangers but is drawn poorly. MILLWOOD GUCCI (1) is a capable mare who resumes here without a trial but can be right in the finish. JUST MAKEMINE DIAMONDS (11) is the best of the rest but disappointed last start. Tips: 3 7 1 11 Suggested Bet: SOMEBEACHPARTY (3) to win. Race 9: LAWRENCE (3) was a comfortable first-up winner at Narrogin before chasing hard when a game 2nd to Diego in slick time. This looks an easier assignment and he should prove hard to beat if he steps safely. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (2) is the best drawn of the main chances and will give them something to catch if he finds the top. GRAN CHICO (11) will be giving his rivals a start but must be considered on his last two efforts. YES HES A LADIES MAN (6) has led throughout in recent stand events and will be hard to beat if he crosses at the start. Tips: 3 2 11 6 Suggested Bet: TRIROYALE BRIGADE (2) each way. Race 10: AL GUERRERO (5) has used his blistering gate speed to lead throughout in all three starts this time in. He steps up in class tonight but should find the top again and prove hard to catch. DIEGO (9) has impressed in winning all three starts since crossing the Tasman and is the best horse in the race but has a tough draw to overcome. THE KRAKEN (10) was a solid 3rd to DIEGO (9) at his last start and is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs. ANTERO (6) has comfortably won both of his starts since joining the Hall camp but rises in class tonight. Tips: 5 9 10 6 Suggested Bet: AL GUERRERO (5) to win.
