Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 21, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MIGHTY RONALDO (7) has impressed in leading throughout at his last two starts. He might not find the top here but looks capable of unwinding a big finish and is still the one to beat. LAVRA JOE (9) sat outside MIGHTY RONALDO (7) when a brave 2nd to that pacer last start and has the strength to overcome his wide draw. CARABAO (4) is an improving type who bolted in at Pinjarra on Monday and must be respected. DISCO DEMON (2) is a consistent type who did defeat CARABAO (4) at his last start and is drawn well. Tips: 7 9 4 2 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (7) to win. Race 2 DRACARYS (5) has battled bad draws against hot mares’ fields at her past three starts. This is a significant drop in class and she should be a big improver. DENNIS (1) has been unplaced at his past six starts but should play a part from the pole. VALBONNE (6) ran three nice 2nds before being hopelessly held up here last week and looks a major player. EXTREME PRINCE (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be in the money at odds. Tips: 5 1 6 10 Suggested Bet: DRACARYS (5) to win. Race 3 SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (4) faced the breeze and battled on well to finish 3rd in a 56.3 half here last week and looks suited in this field. KINGSLAYER (9) couldn’t make up ground behind Bletchley Park last start but can be driven more aggressively tonight. DOMINATE THE DOJO (5) flies the gate and will be thereabouts if he crosses at the start. MACHLANI (2) wasn’t far away in the Bletchley Park event last week and can play a part from this draw. Tips: 4 9 5 2 Suggested Bet: SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (4) to win. Race 4 BALCATHERINE (1) was a dominant 1.54.3 winner here last week and is clearly the one to beat. She was crossed the only time she drew this barrier but is versatile if that does eventuate. MIRACLE MOOSE (6) hasn’t finished further back than 2nd in his last six starts and is the obvious danger. ROLL WITH ME (4) has won two of his four starts this time in and should be thereabouts. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (10) doesn’t have the class of many of his rivals but looks a good place chance if the polemarker does hold the front. Tips: 1 6 4 10 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (1) to win. Race 5 ALTA LOUISA (1) sat one out one back and had her chance when 3rd to BLOCKJORG (10) and DOUBLE EXPRESSO (12) at her last start but can turn the tables on the more experienced duo with the aid of her perfect draw. DOUBLE EXPRESSO (12) is the state’s best filly, winning 12 of her 18 career starts, and has the strength to overcome her backline draw. BLOCKJORG (10) upset the two favourites here recently and should enjoy the same trip. STAR FROMTHEPALACE (2) is flying and must be respected from her nice draw. Tips: 1 12 10 2 Suggested Bet: BLOCKJORG (10) each way. Race 6 MR KIWI (6) did all of the work and was a strong winner here last week. He will be fitter again for that run and is clearly the one to beat. THE BIRD DANCE (12) ran on well after being slowly away at his last start and looks the main danger if he can begin smoothly. BOLTA (4) ran on strongly and just missed when 2nd to Kilowatt Kid and looks the best of the frontmarkers. MAJOR SHARD (1) did win a recent Byford standing trial and can play a part from the pole. Tips: 6 12 4 1 Suggested Bet: MR KIWI (6) to win. Race 7 MARQUISARD (2) led throughout here in 1.56.7 three starts back and will be extremely hard to catch if he can find the top and repeat that performance. MISTER BUSHIDO (4) has won his last two starts with contrasting racing styles and should be right in the finish again. OUR PERKINS (5) ran on well to just miss here last week and will be charging home again. DREAMY NIGHTS (3) has finished towards the rear at his last five starts but will appreciate the drop back to a middle distance tonight. Tips: 2 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: MARQUISARD (2) to win. Race 8 WILDWEST (7) was ultra-impressive in winning his first eight starts but performed below par at his last two starts before a spell. He resumes here but will be hard to hold out if anywhere near his best. TAROONA BROMAC (2) won ten of his first 13 race starts against inferior opposition but has finished closer to the rear at his last three runs. He is well drawn tonight and can bounce back. ROBBIE EASTON (5) raced well in top 4YO company last time in and must be considered. PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (3) is the next best. Tips: 7 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: WILDWEST (7) to win. Race 9 GOTTA GO GABBANA (2) has been unplaced at her past three starts but is drawn to control this race from in front or in the breeze and is the one to beat. DELIGHTFULREACTION (3) is flying and should enjoy a nice run in transit. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (1) was a fast finishing 3rd here last week and has options from the pole. JUST ROCKON BYE (7) ran on well to win here last week and can repeat the dose if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 2 3 1 7 Suggested Bet: GOTTA GO GABBANA (2) to win. Race 10 CHICAGO BULL (3) was a dominant winner two starts back before being gunned down on the line after doing all of the work here last week. His effort was full of merit and he is still clearly the one to beat. OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (2) was the giant killer last week and can repeat the dose with the right trip in transit. VULTAN TIN (1) has been out of form but put the writing on the wall with a fast finishing 3rd at his last start and has options from the pole. EL JACKO (4) needs some luck but has a nice turn of foot if things go his way. Tips: 3 2 1 4 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (3) to win. Market Market
